2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: 2021 RHP Ohio State commit. Athleticism is clearly evident on the mound. Motions are fluid and efficient. Gets into his lower half very well. Ball comes out of a ¾ arm slot with a whip-like action. Middleton already has present stuff that will play at the next level, but the projectability is clearly there.
Fastball:  Comes out of the hand well. Pitch shows downhill trajectory with slight arm side movement.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1935-1972
Curveball: 11/5 shape break with sharp bite. Offering shows great depth. Potential wipe out pitch as it continues to sharpen.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1708-1962
Changeup: Commands changeup very well. Thrown with good arm speed. More than enough to keep guys guessing.

7/24/18

The top prospect in attendance with legit two-way potential at the D1 level. Obvious projection on the mound with a physical, 6-foot-4 frame. Long lever type that doesn’t have a ton of effort to delivery. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Quality three pitch mix lead by the 84-87 mph fastball. Breaking ball shows late dive on an 11/5 plane sitting 70-72 mph. The offering has present swing and miss to it. As impressive as the breaker was the changeup may have been better. The pitch has heavy arm side action at 76-77 mph. Starter type with the changeup making him equally as effective to both RHH and LHH. A left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Simple load that leads to balanced launch. Swing is level with obvious strength and speed through the zone. Ball comes off well without a ton of effort to strike. Middle of the lineup type guy with high swing. Some of the more raw power we’ve come across in his class for his class. Corner type in the outfield with a huge arm. Actions are fluid and athletic with above average ball skills. Really looks the part out there.

2/11/18

Burst onto the scene this past summer and hasn’t looked back. He earned an invitation to the Future Games as a rising freshman, but couldn’t attend due to football commitments (he started on varsity as a wide-receiver for one of the top teams in Central Ohio).Nonetheless, he was one of the lone freshman to earn an invitation to Preseason All-State, and he made the most of the experience. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect blended in just fine with the state’s best in BP. The lefty regularly landed on balls, showcasing his advanced skill set for class. To go along with his loud bat, he also ran it up to 84 mph on the mound, ran a 7.13, and threw 88 mph from the outfield.Middleton is already receiving interest from schools in the ACC, SEC, and BIG10. This summer, he will divide his time between the Triple Crown Royals and Team Elite out of Georgia.Time will tell whether the No. 3 player in the 2021 class ends up on the mound, a power hitting outfielder or both ... but either way the future is bright.

7/05/17

A left-handed hitter that starts in a wider setup. Uses a double tap to get things going. Lower half creates timing and energy. Hands a rhythmic prior to launch. Natural tools stand out amongst the rest. Path is level with impressive strength through contact. Shows all the signs of a power guy down the road. Took one out to dead center in BP. In the outfield he plays with athleticism and confidence. Mechanically clean and plays through the baseball well. Ball jumps out of his hand. Arm is advanced and accurate.

6/28/17

Shows potential of being a top two-way talent in his class. A left-handed bat that starts in a balanced setup. Natural tools stood out amongst the rest. Path is mostly level with some natural loft. Ball looked different coming off his bat. Has some mechanical stuff to clean up but upside is there. Definite bat to follow as he shows all signs of a middle of the lineup guy down the road. Projects as a corner guy in the outfield. Footwork is clean and under control. Glove skills are above average. Stood out for his arm strength. In the windup, he starts with a slower delivery but explodes through the pitch. He short arms the ball from an over the top arm slot. Has good tempo in both the windup and stretch. Had impressive control over all pitches for his age. Advanced approach of changing locations/speeds/eye levels. FB was lively, explosive with run. CB has sharp 11/5 bite that dropped out of the bat path.

FB: 80-84 mph
CB: 64-66 mph
CH: 71-73 mph
60-yard Dash: 7.23
Outfield Velocity: 85
