8/04/19

Body Type: 6-foot, 170-pound athletic frame.
Hit: Lefty swinger with an aggressive stroke. Physical kid with all the tools to hit in the heart of a lineup. Ball jumped off barrel in BP. Swing really works. Hit tool will translate to next level.
Power: 89.9 mph exit velocity in BP. Easy gap pop.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Obvious athleticism on the mound. Good mover with a fluid tempo. Everything comes together pretty well. Arm is on time, loose while coming through a high-¾ slot.
Fastball: 81-85 mph. High spin rate guy.  Pitch works downhill with some late life. More in the tank.
Curveball: Spins it well, 2/8 shaped breaking ball that has quality action through the zone.
Slider: The sharper of the two offering. Late, heavy break on a different plane than the breaking ball.
Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.

1/21/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic frame with a ton of physical projection left.
Swing Mechanics: Lefty swinger with fluid actions in loading sequence.
Hit: Efficient swing with  balance throughout stroke. Athleticism really shows in the box with his loose hands generating a ton of early bat speed and whip through the zone. Impressive combination of burst and feel for contact. All fields hitter that can naturally lift the baseball.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity. Gap to gap guy now with much more to come. He has naturally quick hands and is a wiry strong kid but expect much more if he finds the weight room. Has potential to be dynamic.
Offensive Projection: Anywhere. Already projects to hit for average and there are physical signs of some emerging power in there.|
Run: 7.22 60-yard dash.
Field: Mechanically sound in the outfield with fluid actions and feel for the position.
Throw: 84 mph from the outfield. Big arm with more to come. Arm works well and has above average arm speed for class. Ball comes out very easy.
Defensive Projection: Corner outfielder with above average athleticism
Additional Comments: We’ve seen Jack multiple times over the past few years and he just continues to get better and better. L/L guy with athleticism and a real chance to become dynamic at the plate. I don’t see why his stock can’t continue to rise as he continues to add strength to frame.

1/21/19

Body: 6-foot 170-pound projectable prospect with a strong athletic frame.
Mechanics/Delivery Notes: Fluid delivery with efficient lower half. Creates a lot of deception stay closed off, shows looseness in the arm working through a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 79-82 mph fastball that jumps out of the hand. Pitch works downhill with heavy run to both sides of the plate.
Curveball: 62-66 mph curveball has 1/7 shape. Shows some feel and sharpness at times.
Changeup: 67-69 mph changeup is thrown with good arm speed showing occasional run when thrown to the arm side.
Knuckleball: 64-65 mph Knuckleball has more of a tumble action. Did throw the pitch for strikes.
Pitchability: Shows good control of all four of his pitches. Fastball is the best offering, with the breaking ball being very close to becoming an above average pitch. Not sure that the knuckleball will play at the next level.
Role: This prospect could fit in multiple roles in the future, control and improving the effectiveness of the breaking ball will play key roles. Strong frame and ease of delivery make him an interesting potential starting pitching prospect in the future.

7/24/18

A left-handed hitter that starts in a  tall, open stance. Load is fluid and athletic. Launches from a balanced position and takes a level path to contact. Fast bat with strength to hands. More physical than when we saw him last. Line drive guy with gap abilities. Backspun it well to both fields with feel for finding the barrel.  Very solid showing. An above average athlete for the first base position. Moves off the bag with fluidity, covering more ground than most. Solid defender over there with an above average skill set across the board. On the mound the southpaw shows athleticism throughout the delivery. Motion requires more than regular effort with some aggressive in the lower half. Fastball shows some natural run at 80-83 mph. Able to locate to both sides of the plate, living low in the zone. Curveball is a near 12/6 breaker with some big, late break at 64-67 mph. Feel for this pitch both in the zone and as a put away option. Shows projection on the mound.

1/15/18

Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Looks athletic off the bag at first base. Plays with rhythm and fluidity with feel for the spot. Ball skills are more than adequate for the position. Profiles as an above average defender moving forward. Showed off 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. At the plate he stars in a tall setup from the left side. Barrel maintains momentum through load into launch, incorporating a bat tip. Bat travels on a mostly level path through the zone with some whip to the barrel. Swing is efficient and repeatable. Can get around the ball at times. When he stayed inside the ball he showed line drive capabilities with easy backspin. Topped out at 81 mph for exit velocity. On the mound the left-hander has a slow tempo working through a chest high lift before loading the hips. Creates tilt in his stride working in-line. Uses a short arm action through a high-¾ slot. Fastball showed cut to the glove side and some fade when thrown arm side. The pitch sat 72-75 mph. Also features a changeup at 72-73 mph, the pitch has consistent run to the arm side. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape, the pitch has gradual break at 58-61 mph.

9/24/17

A two-way prospect. At the plate he starts his movements early and maintains momentum into launch. Path is level and barrel has noticeable whip through the zone. Sees spin well and generates consistent ball flight. A line drive guy who has more pop to come with maturity. In the outfield he plays fast and with confidence. Showed above average ball skills as he plays through the baseball. Threw with accuracy and some carry to home plate. At first base he profiles as a well above average defender. A very good athlete for the spot. Gets off the bag well, showing impressive range/lateral mobility. Glove works well. On the bump the southpaw has a smooth tempo to his low effort delivery. Goes with a high leg lift for momentum and lands on line to home plate at foot strike. Arm action is compact and clean while working through a near over the top slot. Fastball worked downhill, sitting 69-71 mph. We had seen him up to 76 mph previously. Spins a tight, 1/7 shaped breaking ball with depth. The pitch looks to have potential to develop into a well above average offering. Also showed feel for a changeup at 65-66 mph.

5-foot-9, 135-pound projectable frame. The left-hander shows some quickness through a short arm action. Throws through a high ¾ slot with regular effort. Athletic delivery with good rhythm. Uses a high lift and moves well while projecting his center down the mound. There is a lot of run to his fastball at 73-76 mph. He complimented the fastball with a late breaking 12/6 curveball, the pitch sat 62-66 mph. He also featured a 63-64 mph changeup that showed some arm side run. A lefty swinger that starts tall and takes his hands to launch during his stride. Lower half is efficient as he incorporates a leg kick load. Swing is compact and path is level. Would like to see him transfer weight into contact more consistently to produce more regular line drives. Very quick feet around the bag at first base. Showed an efficient transfer and made all the plays in his evaluation.
