1/20/18
6-foot-4, 250-pound right-handed pitcher showed us some good arm action while throwing from a lower ¾ arm slot. Armbrecht is a big-sized athlete with a strong frame whose fastball sat 77-79 mph while touching 80 a couple times. It produced arm-side run and Jackson kept it low in the zone for strikes throughout his bullpen. His curveball showed good movement at 67-71 mph, but he left it up in the zone a couple times instead of pulling it down. He showed the ability to throw all his pitches mostly for strikes while only having a few from his bullpen missing out of the zone. He mechanics looked good as he stayed strong and connected throughout his motion up to his release. Armbrecht already has a good frame to work with, but needs to use that size and get more out of his legs to drive down the mound and produce more force. That can help him meet his potential on the mound. A right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Gets back to even through a kneep pinch and controlled stride. Uses an easy back load with hands prior to launch. A strong kid with a slightly downhill path to the baseball. His loose hands allow him to accelerate barrel quickly and produce natural whip through the zone. Potential power bat who should fit nicely in the middle of a lineup. Frame fits the third base positions. Moves light on his feet and reacts well off the bat. Looks well versed at the spot. Ball skills are average to slightly above average at this stage. How lateral mobility improves with maturity will likely determine which corner spot he ends up at.

6/20/17
A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2019 class. Very strong, physical frame. Starts on the far side of the rubber before shifting to the middle prior to leg lift. Lift is easy and he stays tall balance point. Lower half creates adequate energy and direction to home plate. Lands on line to home plate at foot strike, prior to falling slightly to first base side as he finishes. Arm action is shorter and relatively clean. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with developing arm speed. Fastball comes out of his hand well, showing arm side run at 75-80 mph. His go to secondary offering is his changeup. Showed excellent feel for the pitch, while maintaining fastball arm speed at 66-69  mph. Produced consistent swing and misses with the offering. Also spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. The pitch is tight, with gradual break at 67-69 mph. Not a huge breaker but has decent depth to it, while working on a 11/5 plane.

2/15/17
Starts in a tall setup at the plate. Incorporates a small leg lift to start his loading sequence. Hands move slightly back prior to getting the bat through the zone on a mostly level path. Advanced strength for his age with adequate bat speed. Ball comes off his bat very well, especially to his pull side. Showed gap to gap pop in general with flashes of power potential. In the infield he showed confidence in his glove with some quickness to his feet. Looked smooth going to his glove hands side. Glove skills are adequate. On the mound the right-hander has an uptempo to a delivery that requires some effort. Works through a high-¾ slot with relatively clean arm action. Fastball had slight run to it at times while sitting 74-76 mph, topping at 78 mph with his fastball. Showed solid feel for his changeup that had substantial run at times at 70-71 mph.  Spins a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 66-70 mph.
