The reactive strength index measurement of an athlete's explosiveness by comparing their jump height to the ground contact time in between their jumps. On a scale of 0-5.
Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
Jack Traylor: C/3B, (2026) Graham, OH. 5-foot-10, 175-pound solid frame. (65.8 mph bat speed average). (19.1 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced tall stance with a compact load, then used a short small leg kick. Has explosive bat speed, uphill swing plane and high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. While catching, throw downs to second were maxed at 67 mph. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 72 mph; had consistent footwork, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 67 mph; consistently had pop times of 2.25-2.36. Decent accuracy to the bases, used a ¾ slot with a compact arm action.
