10/15/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound strong build. An aggressive hitter that swings with intent. Uses a leg kick for timing prior to an aggressive stride forward. Hands stay quiet before firing the barrel through the zone on a level path. Bat speed and strength are both above average. Took the first pitch he saw out in BP and showed pop to his pull side throughout the day. Recorded four hits in game action. Reached a top exit velocity of 95 mph. Was also very impressive behind the plate. Tools are well above average across the board. Stole strikes in game play and showed the willingness to block. Recorded elite pop times of 1.85-1.92 and threw with 79 mph arm strength to home plate.

8/7/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound strong, athletic build. Jake can swing the bat but what stands out is his ability behind the plate. Pop times are respectable at 2.08-2.17, but don't tell the full story. Receiving skills are impressive and he blocks with ease. Defensive abilities play at the college level right now. Arm strength is solid as he threw with 74 mph arm strength to second base. Shows leadership qualities behind the plate. At the plate he has a smooth stroke from the right side. Bat has a level path with above average batspeed. A hitter that will hit for a high average. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph.

2/13/16
6-foot, 185-pound strong, athletic build. The young catcher looked very comfortable and athletic behind the plate. Used athletic footwork and a very quick transfer to have pop times ranging from 1.97-2.0. With short, clean arm action he was able to throw accuretly and with 74 mph arm strength. At the plate he starts slightly open with an athletic setup from the right side. Takes his hands slightly back as he gets back to even with a short stride. Was able to consistently square the ball up in batting practice and registered an exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 7.84 6-yard dash.
