Notes

Comments

6/03/19

Body Type:  6-foot-3, 230-pound physical kid.
Swing Mechanics:
Tall simple load where upper and lower half can get out of sync at times.
Hit:
Swing is explosive when he is on time. Uber physical guy with hand speed. Ball jumps.
Power:
Big time pop to the pull side.
Offensive Projection:
Middle of the lineup guy.
Field:
Frame for the corners. Moves light on his feet with soft hands through fielding. Does a nice job creating angles.
Throw:
Not a big arm but accurate. Could see more strength down the road.
Defensive Projection:
CIF.

2/14/19

Body Type: 6-foot-3, 225-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics:
Hit: 6-foot-3, uber physical bat with a ton of jump off the barrel. Swing has room for some refinement but that strength plays big time. Drove the ball with authority in BP.
Power: 98 mph exit velocity. Present loft power to pull.
Offensive Projection: Middle of Lineup.
Run: 5.25 H-1st.
Field: Moves better than you’d think and has obviously been coached up in the infield. Hands are soft and ball skills are adequate for the spot.
Throw: 78 mph across the infield.
Defensive Projection: Corner Infielder.
Additional Comments: Potential for serious raw power is what makes him intriguing. Playable defender at either corner spot.

2/14/19

Body Type: 6-foot-3, 225 pounds. Physical build.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Releases out of a ¾ am slot throwing with shorter arm action. Provides an even paced tempo with nice rhythm. Utilizes who body and takes great intent to action performed.
Fastball:  77-79 mph. Lighter arm-side run with late action. Best commanded pitch.
Curveball: 64-65 mph. Showed 11-6 break. Working on getting on top of the pitch more consistently as he pulled it down.
Changeup: 69-70 mph. Nice movement with tailing run arm-side late. Located it at the bottom of the zone.
Knuckleball: 64-67 mph. Harder knuckler. Displayed nice movement with tumble to it.
Pitchability: Sturdy build with more potential left in arm. Abilities on the mound showed well today. Off-speed pitches are improving which will advance his tool set.
Role: Multiple.

9/24/17

A physical bat from the right-side. Goes with a leg kick timing trigger to initiate loading sequence. Hands are loose prior to launch and barrel releases from a vertical position. Swing has some natural loft to it and strength stands out in swing. Consistently squared the ball up in batting practice, generating easy gap pop. The combination of strength and path make him a candidate to grow into some loft power down the road. At third base he uses direct footwork approaching the baseball. Plays with confidence and actions have some athleticism to them. Ball skills are average for his class. Showed developing arm strength across the diamond. On the bump he has a slower pace to his delivery. Lands slightly closed at foot strike with his momentum carrying him the first base line at finish. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Sat 73-75 mph with his fastball that showed arm side run. Spins a big, gradual breaking ball at 60-62 mph. The pitch moves on an 11/5 plane. Also showed a changeup, using near fastball arm speed at 66-67 mph.

2/09/17

6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect. At the plate he starts in a balanced setup prior to his leg kick load and controlled stride. Hands stay simple before getting the bat through the zone on a level path. Swing is compact. Stronger than he is fast with the bat. Showed gap to gap pop in batting practice. Behind the plate he does a nice job of getting in line to second base during his transfer. Transfer skills are adequate. Plays fluid and under control in the infield. Showed confidence in his glove in and out of his funnel. Glove skills are above average for position/age. On the mound, the right handed pitcher displays regular effort in delivery with smooth tempo. Arm works through an over the top slot as his fastball displays some cutting action at 73-76 mph. Breaking ball sits between 64-65 mph and features gradual 11/5 break. Also mixes in a 66-67 mph changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed.
