Notes

Comments

1/21/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-10 160-pound prospect.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot with a smooth, loose arm action. He showed athleticism in the delivery with a smooth finish.

Fastball: 77-81 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone.

Curveball: 66-67 mph breaking ball showed tight spin and decent shape.

Changeup: 71-72 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone.

Pitchability: Decent command of all three of his pitches.
Role:
Potentially projects as a starter type with his decent velocity and good breaking ball. Refinement of the changeup would help his cause.

1/21/19
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic frame.

Swing Mechanics: Easy fluid load that creates balance with energy at swing decision.

Hit: Smooth swinger with feel for the parrel. Stroke is compact on a level plane, running into the barrel often. His ability to get on plane early gives him a large margin for error in timing with the ability to naturally backspin the ball to both sides of the field. Very complete round of BP.

Power: 81 mph exit velocity. Offers balanced strength and bat speed through the zone. More of a line drive guy now but will flash gap abilities.

Offensive Projection: Multiple roles with a more natural fit at the top of the lineup presently.

Run: 7.53 60-yard Dash

Field: Athletic infielder that plays aggressively without compromising control/rhythm. Very mechanically sound.

Throw: 79 mph velocity across the infield. Average to above average arm now but clean arm action with some jump out of the hand. I would expect him to gain more velo across the diamond as physical maturation takes its course.

Defensive Projection: Middle Infielder

Additional Comments: A very solid ball player that gets better and better each time we see him. Respectable measurables but not eye popping, yet plays up due to baseball skill. Definite college future.

1/15/18

Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Actions are smooth in the infield. Hands are soft and glove is reliable. Moves well laterally with the ball skills to stay in the middle of the field at this stage. Threw across the infield with 70 mph arm strength.  A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Creates rhythm and energy with pre launch movements. Swing is compact and path is level. Shows twitch through the zone with strength to his hands at contact. Sprayed line drives to both fields, flashing gap abilities. Impressive round of BP. Top exit velocity was 80 mph. A two-way prospect that brings above average athleticism to the bump. Works with an uptempo delivery that requires little effort. Lower half is efficient and he looks to be able to repeat. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sat 68-72 mph with occasional arm side life. Displayed solid feel for his changeup that had similar action the fastball at 64-66 mph. Tends to slow armspeed a bit on the offering. Also will tosses a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 62-64 mph. Puts good spin on the offering giving it depth through the zone. A strike thrower in general that was in the zone with all three offerings.
