 3B/RHP, (2023) Walsh jesuit, OH. 6-foot-1, 190-pound. During batting practice, Simecek recorded an exit velocity of 100 mph. (72.9 mph bat speed average). (22.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is present, uses a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 79 mph; had firm hands, consistent footwork, and a natural exchange. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.23. On the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 85-88 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2269; Avg 2142). Showed a 10/4 slider (75-76) with late action. He had deceiving action on his splitter (79-81). 

John Simecek: RHP/3B, (2023) Walsh jesuit, OH. 6-foot-1, 190-pound. At the plate, Simecek had a max exit velocity of 96 mph. (71.4 mph bat speed average). (22.7 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is quick, uses a loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 79 mph; showed a natural exchange, consistent feet, and soft hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.12 at the event.

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Looks the part in the box. Smooth movement patterns with feel for his sequence. Will use both gaps with well above average jump for class. Definite hit tool to follow.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 97mph.
Max BP Distance: 345ft.
Field: Clean, athletic feet in the ionfield. Ball skills are ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: Arm is a well above average tool.
Defensive Projection: Left side of infield.

Scouting Notes: High follow in 2023 class. Fast-twitch athlete on the hill with feel for his arsenal. Up to 84 mph with a much higher velocity ceiling and an absolute hammer of a slider. The pitch has impressive depth and generated uncomfortable swings all day.
Fastball: 82-84mph.

2/23/20 Position Player
Hit: Right handed hitter. Begins with a more upright, narrow stance with a slight knee bend. Loading sequence is smooth and controlled with a slight leg lift for timing purposes. Level bat path through the zone, which produces line drive pop to the gaps.
Power: 87 mph tee ev. Present gap abilities
Offensive Projection: Run Producer traits.
Field: Worked out as a 3B. Displayed athleticism with good lateral movement. Plays under control with good actions and soft hands.
Throw: 81mph arm across the INF.
Defensive Projection: Corner INF

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Right handed pitcher. Delivery is smooth and fluid with a high front leg lift, engaging his backside. Clean, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: 79-83 mph. Above average fastball for young age, with regular arm side run.
Breaking Ball: 72-73mph. 11/5 break with tight power.
Changeup: 74-75mph. Good depth, while maintaining consistent arm speed.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 165-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Simple and smooth load while keeping his hands loose and loaded.
Hit:  Level bat path that produces above average bat speed.  Good feel in the box.  Well above natural tools with fluid movements.
Power:  Flashes pop to the pull side with more to come with physical maturation.
Offensive Projection:  Middle of the lineup guy.
Field:  At the catcher position, he has a quick transfer and quick feet.  Good feel for the position with good receiving and blocking skills. Corner skill set in the outfield. Plays under control throughout sequence with above average ball skills.
Throw: Has above average arm strength with short and compact arm action.
Defensive Projection: Utility.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 165-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Smooth, low effort delivery. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot with above average strength/speed for class. Generates easy velocity. Starter profile.
Fastball: 67-69. Comes in flat, with solid command. Low spin effenciency makes for some backside movement deep in the zone.
Curveball: 61-63. Tight spin, with gradual break and solid command. Good compliment to the fastball with room for development.
Changeup:
Pitchability: Could get more out of his body, but has good feel with potential to build on velo and strength. Average for his class.

Body Type:  5-foot-9, 165-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Simple and smooth load into back leg, and engages his lower half.
Hit:  Level bat path with a middle of the field approach.  Produces backspin line drives.
Power:  Flashed it to the middle of the field.
Offensive Projection:  TBD.
Field: At third base he plays with quiet feet and above average ball skills. Plays the ball nicely, on the left side of his body.  At the catcher position, he has an open stance with quick footwork.  His receiving and blocking skills are still developing.
Throw: Arm works and ball comes out well.
Defensive Projection: 3B/C. 

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 165-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics: A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Simple yet athletic load.
Hit: Really like the movements, creating energy and balance. Physical kid with bat speed and feel for contact. Everything works. One of those guys who can let it loose while still maintaining barrel accuracy.
Power: Some of the more raw pop we saw. Easy gap abilities with more to come.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer.
Run: 4.59 H-1st.
Field: Had a solid showing behind the dish and showed capable abilities as a corner infielder. Recorded the lower pop time of the day, popping between 2.02-2.11.  At third base he moves with fluidity and looks to have above average ball skills.
Throw: Arm plays as a big tool at both positions.
Defensive Projection: C/Corner Infield.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 165-pound physical frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Very fluid, efficient delivery. Gets down the mound well. ¾ right-hander that has a clean, on time arm. Everything works well. Candidate to keep adding velo.
Fastball: 76-78 mph. Ball comes out well with consistent arm side action. High spin rate guy.
Curveball: 68-69 mph. 11/5 shaped breaking ball that has later action to it.
Changeup: 71-72 mph. Nice little wrinkle offering that has some fade to it.
Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with strong, athletic build

Hit: The RHH has uses a small load with hands and a small toe tap for timing. Has a fluid swing, and swings with intent. Showed the ability to hit to all sides of the field. His hands guide bat to contact and has good mechanics

Power: Line drive production hitter with more power to come

Offensive Projections: Middle (80 exit velocity)

Run: 7.77 (60-yard dash)

Field: Behind the plate, he stays low and receives the ball well. Has above average arm strength with accuracy in his throws. Has good footwork as he gets into his transfers.
