Kaden Pew: OF/OF, (2023) Gahanna Lincoln, OH. Clark State CC Commit, 5-foot-10, 190-pound sturdy athletic build. (63.6 mph bat speed average). (21.9 mph hand speed average). Started in a wide strong stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed is explosive above average, uses a loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up lots of balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 83 mph; has next level hands, in control feet, and a clean natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball to the side. Used athletic slot and a loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a time of 7.11 in the 60-yard dash.  (Max spin ; Avg ). 

Kaden Pew: OF/RHP, (2023) Gahanna Lincoln, OH. 5-foot-10, 175-pound. At the plate, Pew recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph. (65.2 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Had a loose level swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Solid his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 81 mph; has a natural exchange, soft hands, and consistent feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.43.  

Kaden Pew: OF/RHP, (2023) Gahanna Lincoln, OH. 5-foot-10, 170-pound. In the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick stride. Bat speed is quick, displays a short simple swing plane and high finish. Solid from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 80 mph; had consistent soft hands, a fluid exchange, and quick footwork. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.8. On the mound, had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with some arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 78-79 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2118; Avg 2056). His 12/6 curveball (58-59) has early action. (Max spin 1625; Avg 1603). He has late action on his changeup (69-70). 

Kaden Pew: OF/RHP, (2023) Gahanna Lincoln, OH. 5-foot-10, 170-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph. (64.04 mph bat speed average). (21.21 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a compact small load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was efficient, used a level swing plane and level finish. He barreled up multiple balls during the round. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 82 mph; shows average feet, a natural packing exchange, and firm hands. Had a long arm action and consistent accuracy to the bag. Solid on the mound, showed some arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Tall balance point with in line shoulders. Has a clean finish. Curveball (58-60 mph). Sat with his fastball at 76-79 mph. (Max spin ; Avg ). 

Hit: Athletic look in the box from the right side. Very quick hands with surprising strength for frame. Ball comes off well and he also showed the ability to generate natural backspin to both gaps.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Max BP Exit: 84mph.
Max BP Distance: 251ft.
Field: Controlled footwork with smoother actions in his approach. Ball skills are there and he played through the ball well.
Throw: Clean arm with more strength to come.
Defensive Projection: Multiple spots.

Scouting Notes: Kaden is an interesting arm out of Gahanna Lincoln High School. Looks the part out there movement wise. Good athlete with obvious mobility in his lower half. Expect him only to trend upwards velocity wise as he adds strength to athletic frame. Also showed solid secondary arsenal, led by a sharp 12/6 breaking ball. Changeup showed good sell with solid fade.
Fastball: 74-75mph.
Fastball Spin Rates: 1700-1800rpm.
Breaking Ball: 58-60mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rates: 1490-1590rpm.
Changeup: 69-70mph.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 140-pound thin frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Dip and drive lower half with a smooth arm action in the high ¾ slot.

Fastball: 64-67mph. Slight arm side movement that tended to be left up in the zone.

Curveball: 51-53mph. Moves on a 12/6 plane with more depth over action.

Changeup: 56-59mph. Glove side movement that drifts off the plate.

Pitchability: Strike thrower.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 140-pound thin frame.
Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Very simple, repeatable loading sequence.
Hit: Rotational swing sequence that is quicker than it is strong presently but should see much more strength as physical maturation takes its course. All fields hitter that can spray it. Stays inside the baseball well.
Power: Line drive pop. 77.7 mph off the bat in BP.
Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup.

Field:  Plays with a controlled tempo in the outfield to and through.  Ball skills are on par for his class.

Throw:  Throws from over the top with loose arm action.

Defensive Projection:  Corner outfield.
