Kevin West: OF/SS, (2022) Mason, OH. 5-foot-10, 165-pound. In the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 87 mph. Begins in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Had above average bat speed, short simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels in his rounds. Up the middle approach. Smooth from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 86 mph; has a quick exchange, athletic feet, and consistent hands. Movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action.

Hit: Right handed bat that starts out in a balanced setup. Athletic in the box. Efficient loading sequence regularly on time. Bat path is slightly uphill elevating consistently.
Power: Gap power with more to come as he fills out.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Top of the lineup type.
Field: Possesses quick feet and decent glove skills in the infield. Looks comfortable in the outfield. Plays under control with intent.
Throw: Smooth arm action through a ¾ slot. Above average arm at this point.
Defensive Projection: OF/MIF.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 135-pound prospect with a thin build.
Swing Mechanics: Uses a toe tap, bat path works slightly uphill.
Hit: Mostly pull side approach. Creates some loft on the baseball.
Power: Flashes some gap power potential to the pull side. 78 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Could fit into multiple roles in the future.
Run: 4.49 - H to 1st
Field: OF - Aggressive playing thru the baseball with good body control. IF- Solid glove, footwork needs continued development. Clean transfer, but does need to be a little quicker moving forward.
Throw: Solid arm strength from the outfield for his age, 79 mph. On the infield throws were accurate with presently below average arm strength, 73 mph.
Defensive Projection: TBD. Could fill multiple positions.
Additional Comments: Young athlete that is versatile and as feel for the game. Would be interesting to see how he progresses as a matures and fills out. 

2/17/19 Position

Body Type: 5-foot-9 130-pound prospect with a smaller, immature frame.
Swing Mechanics: Really good, athletic swing. Shows a medium setup and starts his swing with a leg kick. Showed quick hands and an on plane bat path.
Hit: Good bat to ball ability and really good barrel control.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Shows the potential to be a gap to gap guy. Good athlete with a really clean swing. How he develops physically will be the main determining factor to his offensive role as he moves forward.

Run: 4.73 home to 1st.

2/17/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-9 130-pound prospect with a smaller, immature frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot. Showed a clean arm action and used his length well. Not much use of his lower half.

Fastball: 73-75 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone with some fading action at times.

Breaking Ball: 61-65 mph breaking ball showed curveball spin with decent shape and depth.

Changeup: 62-63 mph changeup was mostly true with some depth. Did seem to kill spin well on the pitch.

Pitchability: Average feel for his three pitch mix.

Role: Shows somewhat solid secondary offerings for a 2022. Would fit best in the bullpen.

A good athlete with defensive versatility and upside at the plate.  At the plate he has athletic actions in the box with a loose swing through the zone. Impressive feel for contact, showing the ability to use the entire field. Type of bat that plays multiple roles inside a lineup. Presently has a lead off look to him but could by dynamic as strength arrives. A talented defender who can hold his own in the infield or outfield. Present ceiling looks to be higher in the outfield. Moves well out there with an above average skill set across the board. In the infield he has a middle type skill set that leans to second base. Not a flashy defender but sure-handed.
