6-foot-1, 165-pound athletic build. A left handed hitter that starts in a wide setup and uses a no stride approach as he creates momentum through an inward knee turn. Hands stay simple before getting through the zone on a slightly uphill path. Registered a top exit velocity of 75 mph. Behind the plate he started from a high crouch before doing a good job of gaining ground to second on his transfer. Pop times ranged from 1.98-2.05 and he threw with 75 mph arm strength to second base. Ran a 4.46 from home to first.
9/25/19 Swing Mechanics: Lefty swinger with a simple lower half and bat tip to get momentum going with hands. Hit: Compact, level stroke with easy whip through the zone. Ambush lower half. Pull side approach in BP with the ability to lifT the ball naturally. Flashed authority a few times in BP. Power: Ball comes off well. Speed and strength are both apparent to hands. More room to fill out frame and one would expect pop would be added to his already gap abilities. Offensive Projection: TBD. Athletic stroke with more to come. Run: 7.02 Field: Showed an average to above average skill set behind the dish. Has some room to grow at the finer points of the position but possess the physical capabilities to do so when considering arm strength/athleticism. Throw: Long back arm action with some jump out of the hand. Accurate thrower from what we saw. Defensive Projection: C.
