Logan Wells: RHP/OF, (2023) St. Xavier High School, OH. 6-foot, 160-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 88 mph. (62.0 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Had quick bat speed, short simple swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 74 mph; had sure hands, consistent footwork, and a natural exchange. Solid from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 82 mph; shows choppy feet, firm hands, and a clean exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Recorded a 60 time of 7.51 at the event. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed, he had a compact arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 78-79 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2161; Avg 2013). Has slurvey action on his 11/5 curveball (67-68). (Max spin 2092; Avg 2054). His 10/4 slider (68-69) had tight late action. (Max spin 2003; Avg 1996). His cutter (77-77) has late action.
