6-foot-4, 210 pound tall, well-built first basemen pitcher had an easy, short and smooth swing that stroked hard line-drives to all parts of the field with average power. Ewald has good timing and gets in to a good launch position to attack the baseball. His lower half still has more energy to generate which will only improve his power output and exit velocity of 80 mph. On the field, Ewald put on one of the better first base fielding performances at the event showing great ability to move with his size and get to baseballs with ease. His soft hands allowed for him to cleanly field all his opportunities and get to a good position to get rid of the ball especially when turning two. His running ability is also a plus with his size with a 4.32 home to first time. His actions both offensively and defensively are fluid which allows for plenty of upside as he continues to grow and gain strength the new couple years.
