Loose, whippy stroke that generates above average bat speed. Sprayed it well around the yard with natural spin. Type of bat that can play multiple roles w/much more to come as he fills out. 70+mph bat speed and top EV of 92mph. Consistently produced in game with several hits throughout the two days. Also played a quality middle infield, looking most comfortable over at 2B where he flashed the leather several times.

Mason Kurtz: 2B/OF, (2022) Buckeye Valley, OH. 6-foot, 165-pound athletic frame. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Started in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed is above average, uses a loose level swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls throughout the round. Gap to gap approach. Smooth while in the infield, made throws up to 80 mph; had athletic smooth footwork, soft sure hands, and a natural fluid exchange. Had a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.4.

6-foot, 165-pound lanky frame. Athletic during batting practice, Kurtz displayed an exit velocity of 93 mph, Highest at the event. Began in an athletic balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has explosive bat speed, level upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 83 mph. From the outfield, he showed plus arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 88 mph. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.29. 

Hit:Everything is smooth and everything syncs up well. Loose swing with natural whip. Well above average bat and hand speed. Athletic dude who's only going to get better as he fills out that frame. High follow.
Power:Gap to gap pop with much more to come.

Field:Versatile defender with athletic actions and arm strength. A guy you can move around the field without worrying about. Looks a bit more natural in the infield but his skill set translates very well to the outfield as well.

2/17/20 Position Player
Hit: Liked what I saw in the box, smooth mover prior to launch with an aggressive stroke, showed the ability to square up the baseball frequently and isn’t near his physical ceiling yet, offensive grade should only continue to improve as he adds strength to frame, impressive performance.
Power: 81 mph tee exit velocity, line drive flight, should grow into easy gap abilities. 
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Field: Well coached in the infield, feet work/creates efficient angles, light mover with bounce to his step, ball skills are quality.
Throw: Top infield velocity was 78 mph across the diamond,
Defensive Projection: Multiple roles.

A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Fluid load initiated by a leg kick timing trigger, level stroke with slight downhill tendencies, hands show a balanced offering of strength and speed through the zone. Line drive swinger with gap abilities. Solid round. A middle infielder that attacks the ball off the bat with direct footwork. Ball skills are above average and he showed the ability to make plays on the move. Ball comes out well through a ¾ slot showing accuracy across the diamond.

Good athlete with fluid actions on both sides of the ball. A righty swinger with a balanced swing and compact stroke. Presently offers more speed than strength through the zone but that could easily change as physical maturation takes its course. Worked primarily pull side in BP, flashing gap abilities. In the infield he remains fluid as he attacks the ball linearly off the bat. Fields in the middle of his body, showing above average ball skills for class. Loose arm that projects for more strength. Looks to be a solid, reliable defender.

5-foot-8, 140-pound athletic frame. Starts in a tall, open setup at the plate. A wiry strong kid that can generate gap pop with he squares the baseball up. Path is slightly downhill leading to pull side tendencies. Swing has areas to cleanup but the natural tools are there to be an impact type bat. Like what I saw from Kurtz defensively. Moves well in the infield, showing a quick first step off the bat. Ball skills are well above average for age. Flashed the ability to make plays/throw on the move.
