6/5/18
A well-rounded ball player with an above average skill set across the board. A versatile defender that is a legitimate option in either the infield or outfield. Could play center if need be but looks to be more of a corner guy with a natural fit in the left. In the infield he has a middle skill set that leans towards second base. At the plate he has a line drive stroke from the left side. Path is level and he finds plane well. Can use all fields while being most efficient to the middle.

The term “ball player” gets thrown around in scouting a lot but it fits with Wang. The type of prospect you like the more times you see. Although tools don’t jump off the page, they are above average across the board. Why Wang will receive scholarship attention is his defensive versatility and above average hit tool. A right-handed bat that starts in an athletic setup. A smooth swinger with a ton of feel in the box. Bat travels on a mostly level path to the baseball, showing a compact/line drive stroke. A versatile bat that can play multiple roles inside an offense. Looks the part as a defender in the outfield. Mechanically sound with athleticism to his actions. Transitions cleanly through fielding into his pro step. Arm projects as an above average tool. Looks functionally athletic enough to play all three spots. A versatile defender that looks to be able to play the infield at an above average clip as well. Actions are athletic and he has middle infielder hands. Moves well laterally, maintaining ball skills outside funnel.

6/6/17
A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Hands move back during his short stride. Barrel starts flat prior to getting vertical during load. Swing is compact and path is mostly flat. Bat has some quickness to it. Top of the lineup skill set presently with the tools to grow into a run producer role. An outfielder that has fluidity to his actions. Plays through the baseball with confidence. Does a nice job of maintaining momentum into his throws. Ball gets out of his hand well through an over the top slot. In the infield he plays with fluidity and athleticism. Glove skills are there and he has confidence in them . Shows a quick first step with above average laterall mobility. Solid defender at both positions.

2/1/17
A very fluid swinger from the right side. Loading sequence is calm before he attacks the baseball with intent to do damage. Mechanics are simple but efficient. Showed impressive bat speed through the zone on a level path. Swing translates to the next level and should handle velocity well. Gap to gap pop at this stage. Fits the three hole mold. A solid all around infielder with confidence to his actions. Glove skills are well above average. Is able to maintain athleticism and glove skills on the move. Has the skills set to play in the middle of the field at the next level.  Checks all the boxes in the outfield. Glove is confident and footwork is textbook. Plays through the baseball efficiently and aggressively. Legs create a ton of momentum into his throws.

7/6/16
5-foot-10, 155-pound thinner, athletic body frame, with room to fill and project. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced stance, using an inward turn with his front foot at times, hitting into his front leg. Has a fluid load with his hands moving to his back shoulder, then creates whip through the zone. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Registered a top exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. In the infield, he shows athleticism and some range. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength. From the outfield, he shows average footwork with a long arm action into a high ¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength.

2/21/16
5-foot-10, 150-pound athletic build with advanced skills for his age. Right-handed hitter with a simple approach. Easy load to get his hands back and a short compact swing that stays flat thru the hitting zone. Registered top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran 4.5 home to first. In the infield he shows soft hands and fields the ball out in front of his body. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. From the outfield he uses a good run through and crow hop with 79 mph velocity from a high-3/4 slot. Guy to keep an eye on to see how he progresses.
