Mikey Hess: 2B/RHP, (2025) Newark Catholic, OH. 5-foot-9, 141-pound. During batting practice, Hess had an exit velocity of 87 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a toe tap stride. Has an upward swing plane, quick bat speed and high good extension on his finish. Athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 74 mph; shows a fluid exchange, consistent quick feet, and sure hands. Out front fielding mechanics. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.74. On the mound, using a loose arm action he showed good arm speed from a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 73-77 mph. Shows hard action. (Max spin 1756; Avg 1582). His tight changeup (66-69) showed gradual action.
