8/27/17 The 6-foot-2 right-hander looks the part on the mound. Delivery is fluid and repeatable. Mechanically efficient in general with clean arm action. Fastball currently sits 75-78 mph and should only increase with his clean mechanics and athleticism. Spins two different breaking balls. His 11/5 shaped breaking ball has potential to mature into an out pitch. Throws the pitch consistently in the zone, showing obvious feel in the offering. Slider doesn't have as much bite but allows him to control different planes through the zone. Used the pitch to freeze righties or back door lefties most, while also flashing the ability to use it as a chase pitch. Future may be brighter on the mound but showed tools at the plate as well. Very projectable frame that projects for some loft power as he fills out. A smooth swinger that can ramp up the intent when he gets in hitter’s counts. Has feel in the box and strength shows through contact. Generates easy gap pop. Really came up big for the Elite offense in game 3. Ruple laced a pair of doubles, giving him 4 RBIs on the day. In the outfield he projects as a corner outfielder. Reads the ball off the bat well and takes efficient routes. Threw with accuracy and carry to home plate. 60-yard dash: 7.57 Positional velocity: 83 Exit Velocity: 80
6/20/17 A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Works with a fluid, uptempo delivery. Creates solid energy with his lower half through an efficient hip load. Lands on line at foot strike, falling slightly to the first base side to finish. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with above average arm speed. Arm action is clean. Look for velo to continue to progress. Currently sits 78-82 mph with his fastball that was mostly straight through the zone. Offers a changeup and breaking ball for his secondary offerings. Showed feel for both. Breaking ball has good spin to it, moving on an 11/5 plane at 69-71 mph.. The pitch has enough depth and movement to miss barrels with a two-plane look to it at times. The changeup has a fastball look to it out of the hand and he does a nice job of maintaining arm speed. The pitch has some fade to it at 73-77 mph. Has the stuff to pitch at the next level just needs to be in the zone more consistently.
2/5/17 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect. A 2018 pitching prospect that is one to follow. Projectable frame with long limbs and room to fill out. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sat 73-75 mph. Expect velocity to continue to rise with maturity. His 11/5 shaped breaking ball was one of the better ones we saw all day. The pitch showed late bite at 65-66 mph. Was able to maintain fastball arm speed on his 68-69 mph changeup.
