Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Top of lineup.

Field: Stood out in the infield, moves light on his feet with feel for angles. Hands are well above average for class. Talented defender.
Throw: Ball jumps, should have more in the tank.
Defensive Projection: MIF.

Scouting Notes: Good athlete on the mound with a clean arm. Not going to overwhelm you with velocity but fastball plays up due to his advanced feel for spin. Will toss the breaking ball in any count. The pitch is above average with a nice combination of depth and action. Also flashed a changeup that looks to be developing.

Fastball Spin Rate: 1913-2017

Power: 84 mph tee exit velocity, regular gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles, there’s burst and feel in there.
Field: Smooth actions, moves well out there, ball skills are ahead of the curve, talented defender.
Throw: Top infield velocity was 85 mph across the diamond, clean arm that will continue to support added strength.
Defensive Projection: MIF.

2/17/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Everything works well on the mound, athletic delivery with efficiency, clean arm through a high-¾ slot, expect velocity to continue to trend upwards.
Fastball: 79-83 mph, mostly true through the zone, filled up the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1800-2000.
Curveball: Spins two different breakers, 66-70 mph breaking ball that has sharp action on an 11/5 plane, 71-72 mph slider that has sharp horizontal action across the zone, both pitches have swing/miss in there.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1900-2100.
Changeup: 75-76 mph, near fastball arm speed, slight fade.

6/12/19

Body type:  5-foot-10, 160-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing mechanics:  Small leg kick with very little hand movement that get in sync well.
Hit:  Uphill bat path with a middle of the field approach.
Power:  Gap to gap with more to come as he develops.
Offensive projection:  Top of the lineup guy.
Field: Fluid athletic actions and soft hands on the infield. Looks like reliable defender.
Throw: Gets rid of the ball quickly. Throws have some carry through the bag. Arm strength is solid for his age and still developing.
Defensive Projection: Middle infield.

Thin and athletic frame.  Short arm action that is in sync with his lower half.  Stays connected through his delivery. Engages his entire body with each pitch.  Features a fastball that ranges between 76-81mph.  A curveball that he throws with intent and creates 11-5 break on it.  A slider that is a definite strike-out pitch.  Has more velo in the tank as he develops.

7/02/18

5-foot-10, 145-pound prospect that has long limbs. English uses a high leg kick in his delivery to really drive with his lower half. He throws from a low ¾ arm angle to generate a Fastball that is thrown at 72-77 mph. His best secondary pitch is his SL that changes planes and is thrown hard at 65-67 mph. His other off-speed pitches include a 59-62 mph Curveball that shows 11/5 break and a 62-65 mph CH. Maturity will help English as he continues to work on improving on the mound. At the plate the right-hander starts in a tall, open setup. Load is simple yet efficient, leading to a balanced launch. Path is in and out, causing some minor inconsistencies in ball flight but should be an easy fix as he levels out swing. A contact type hitter with a balanced offering of strength and speed through the zone. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field in BP.

60-yard dash: 7.54
Infield Velocity: 70
Exit Velocity: 76
