2/23/20

2/23/20 Position Player
Hit: Starts in an upright set up in the box using a toe-tap timing mechanism. A level path through the zone creating line drives. Hands are quicker than hips right now.
Power: Flashed gap abilities.
Top BP Exit Velocity: 84 ,mph.
Top BP Distance: 247 ft.
Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup.
Field: Active feet in the infield working around the ball well to put himself in a good position to make a play. Shows the ability to move
well laterally.
Throw: 72 mph across the infield.
Defensive Projection: Corner.

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: A slight foot turn to get his delivery started. Ability to fill up the zone with quality strikes and the ability to keep hitters off-balance.
Fastball: Fastball topped at 72 showing regular arm side run with a high ¾ arm slot.
Fastball Spin Rates: 1000-1200
Curveball: Between 65-67. 11/5 shape with signs of sharpness
Curveball Spin Rates: N/A
Changeup: Between 64-67 Able to maintain arm speed

1/26/19 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound prospect with room to add strength to an average build.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Moderate tempo with a lot of movement throughout the delivery. Soft front side working slightly across the body. Works out of a short arm action through a high-3/4 slot.

Fastball: 66-68 mph fastball is mostly straight with some occasional cutting action to the glove side.

Curveball: 56-57 mph curveball with gradual break on an 11/5 tilt. Pitch presently more of a get over pitch.

Changeup: 62-63 mph changeup is thrown with deceptive arm action. The pitch has slight sinking action through the zone.

Pitchability: Good feel for all three offerings, changeup looks to be the best secondary. Needs to sharpen up the breaking ball.

1/26/19

Body Type: 5-foot-8 155-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Starts in an open setup. Seems to cast his barrel a bit and get his barrel in and out of the zone quickly. Shows an overall pull tendency.

Hit: Average bat to ball ability and barrel control.

Power: 75 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Shows some good qualities in his swing but has some limiting factors as well.

Run: 4.93 home to 1st.

Field: Defensively Ellis waits on the ball a bit more than desired. Seems to squat a bit much as well during the fielding of the ball.

Throw: 67 mph across the diamond.

Defensive Projection: Ellis’ skillset and raw physical tools would probably push him into a corner outfield spot or 2B at the next level.
