Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound prospect with projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot. Movements were a little stiff and his arm action showed a bit of a pushing action to it. Doesn’t get much velo out his lower half.
Fastball: 77-81 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone but did show some arm side run at times.
Curveball: 61-66 mph breaking ball was a true overhand curve that showed decent spin and depth. Also, threw a slider that was essentially just the same pitch as the curve but thrown harder.
Changeup: 65-68 mph changeup was mostly true with minimal arm side life but he did kill spin well on the pitch to create some late depth.
Pitchability: Good feel for his 3, technically 4, pitch mix although the slider and curveball showed the same actions. Changeup shows good potential and created good depth on the pitch.
Role: Shows the potential to be a starter type as he continues to develop physically. Fastball and changeup show the most potential currently. As he develops refining the breaking ball will be important.
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 170 pounds. Taller, lean build.
Swing Mechanics: In the box he starts from a wide base that goes slightly closed after stride. Swings it hard with intent and produces a level bat path.
Hit: Barreled up several pitches in his round showing ability to stay on and through balls. Gave some baseball flight showing pop.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity. Power supplied more toward middle-opposite field.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Run: 4.34 seconds home to first.
Field: 1.99-2.13 pop time. Catches out of a wider stance position. Showed a quick transfer process form ball to hand. Footwork presented well for his age and is continuing to improve in swiftness. Actions showed well with few years still left for further progression.
Throw: Arm strength show with 73 mph from behind the plate.
Defensive Projection: Catcher
6-foot-1, 160-pound. Right-handed pitcher with an average build. Slow tempo delivery with a drop and drive type lower half. Short arm action working out of a three-quarter slot. Fastball sat 77 to 80 mph with slight arm side run. Shows advance feel for an 11 to 5 breaking ball with gradual break at 64 to 67 mph. Also flashed a straight change that says 68 to 71 mph. Righty swinger that starts in tall stance. Uses a bat tip and leg kick for timing/energy. Hands are quick through the zone, showing a compact swing. Sprayed line drives to bot gaps displaying feel for the barrel. Should grow into more juice as physical maturation takes its course. Behind the dish he has quick feet and an efficient exchange. Catch and throw abilities are ahead of the curve for class. Ball arrives accurately to second base. Limited viewing on blocking abilities in game but receive abilities are on par for class.
