8/6/17

A left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a back load during his leg lift. A contact guy with a compact swing. Finds the barrel often producing line drives. Swing plays at the top of the lineup. In the outfield he plays low and under control. Slows actions during fielding to ensure ball security. Arm is clean, generating average to slightly above average arm strength. Threw with consistent accuracy. The left-handed pitching prospect offers an athletic, projectable build. Brings a rhythmic slower paced wind-up as he approaches his balance point. Works into a waist high leg kick with a high effort delivery. Front foot lands in line with the plate, but follow through carries him to the third base side. Fastball stays true through the zone and is located well. Works in his curveball as a secondary offering. The two offerings complement each other and the prospect mixes them up well. A low ¾ delivery slot allows for some slight run on his fastball. Expect more velocity from the prospect as he continues to grow and develop his pitches.

8/1/17
5’10, 145-pound prospect. On the mound the southpaw has a low effort, efficient delivery. Goes with a waist high leg lift prior to his stride. Drop and drive type guy. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with average arm speed. Fastball stays mostly straight through the zone with slight run at times. His go to secondary offering was his breaking ball. The pitch showed big, gradual break while working on a 1/7 plane. A strike thrower who filled up the zone with both offerings.

6/21/17
A left-handed hitter that starts in a tall setup. Hands move back fluidly at release. Lower half is simple and creates energy. Gets on plane early and has a flat path. Showed feel for the barrel with more pop than frame would suggest. Showed more pop to his pull side. Top of the lineup type guy. In the outfield he uses fluid footwork approaching the baseball. Fields with two hands to ensure ball security on his glove foot side. Transitions well into his throws and gets rid of it quickly. Throws showed some carry. On the hill the lefty uses a slower tempo to his delivery that requires little effort. Uses an easy leg lift prior to his drop and drive load. Arm action is short and clean while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball has some cut to it at 69-73. Changeup has some fade to it at 66-67 mph. Does a nice job maintaining fastball arm speed on the pitch. Flashed a curveball a few times at 58-60 mph. The pitch works on a 1/7 plane with gradual break.

6/21/16
5-foot-11, 140-pound prospect. At the plate the lefty uses a leg kick to initiate his lower half prior to his short stride forward. His simple hands and short, compact swing allowed him to consistently find the barrel in batting practice. Top exit velocity was 70 mph. In the outfield he has efficient footwork with adequate glove skills. He threw to home plate with 74 mph arm strength. At first base he gets off the bag well and showed confidence in his glove. Gets rid of the ball quickly on his double play balls.
