Notes

Comments

2/17/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11 160-pounds prospect with room to add strength.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Worked stretch only. Varies tempo, has slight pause coming out of the lift. Shows quickness in the arm working out of a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 81-83 mph fastball is easy out of the hand with regular cutting action.
Curveball: 63-64 mph curveball has a near 12/6 shape. The pitch has good spin and flashes occasional sharpness.
Slider: 67-70 mph slider has 1/7 shape. The pitch is tight and has some sharpness to it.
Changeup: 70-74 mph changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed and shows regular cutting action.
Pitchability: Fastball gets on you quick and was located to both sides of the plate. Both breaking balls are playable and have distinct shapes. Showed good feel for the changeup.
Role: Everything right now says starter. Should see a velocity jump in the future as he matures physically.

2/17/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11 160-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a narrow, open stance with hands tight to his body. Uses a mini leg kick and is short to the ball and somewhat stiff but the barrel still stays through the zone well.
HIt: Good barrel control.
Power: 76 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Minimal raw power but some of that may be due to limited loading in his upper body during his swing. Shows good barrel control and a fairly athletic swing.
Field: In the outfield he attacks the ball and plays through it well. Shows good footwork with a quick arm and release.
Throw: 84 mph exit velocity.
Run: 4.83 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Projects best as a corner OF guy at the next level.

5/29/18

Two-way prospect in the 2020 class. Athleticism shows in all aspects of game. At the plate he is a contact type guy with a quick bat and level strong. Smooth swinger that produces natural ball flight when he stays inside the baseball. In the outfield he moves well, offerings a CF/LF type skill set. Much more arm to home plate than frame would suggest. On the bumps he has athletic actions and good tempo to his delivery. Very loose, whippy arm. With outfield velocity and loose arm expect more velocity in the near future. Currently sat 72-76 mph with the fastball. Go to secondary offering is the 1/7 shaped breaker.

Home to 1st: 4.49
Outfield Velocity: 83
Exit Velocity: 80

2/17/18

5-foot-9 and 150-pound left-handed pitching prospect. Works at a slow tempo. Delivery is compact with a drop and drive lower half. Has good direction to the plate working out of a high-3/4 slot and long arm action. Showed the ability to throw that fastball for strikes. The pitch sat 76-77 MPH with late cutting action. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with developing depth at 58-59 MPH. Also offered a changeup at 65-66 MPH with cutting action. Two-way prospect. A left-handed bat that starts in an athletic setup. Hands move slightly back during his big leg kick timing mechanism. Load is fluid and creates natural separation. A back leg hitter that takes an uphill path to the baseball. Would see improved ball flight with leveling out path. Stands out athletically and has all the tools to hit at the next level as he cleans up movements. In the outfield he plays with short, choppy footwork in his approach. Times feet well to attack the hop he wants and play through it quickly. Does a nice job of maintaining momentum through fielding and into throws. Arm is loose/clean projecting for more strength as he matures. Actions are athlete with a skill set that plays at all three spots. How footspeed develops will likely determine destination at the next level.

Home to First: 4.6
Outfield Velocity: 79
Exit Velocity: 73
