Zade Fusselman: OF/RHP, (2022) Canal Winchester, OH. Wright State Commit, 6-foot-1, 185-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 97 mph. (67.5 mph bat speed average). (22.9 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic active stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled leg kick. Bat speed was quick, showed a loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his balanced finish. Solid in the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 91 mph;had a clean exchange, soft hands, and quick footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.76 60-yard dash.
Loud tools. Ran a blazing 60-yard dash in the 6.5’s, in the box generated 82.6mph bat speed and 23.7gs of rotational acceleration that lead to triple digit exit velocities at times, topping 101mph. Not only are the tools loud but he was one of the most productive in game players for Team Ohio. Led the team in stolen bags, had several hits in game, also showed off the arm throwing out a runner at home plate and the wheels by tracking down several balls.

Starts in an athletic open stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Had an upward swing plane and explosive bat speed. In the round he found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 89 mph;has soft hands, and a natural packing exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.65. Athletic on the mound, showed good arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a compact arm action. Feel type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Lands square with a falling off finish. Changeup (76-77 mph). Sat with his fastball at 82-85 mph.

Bat speed is explosive, displays an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 87 mph; has a natural exchange, consistent feet, and sure hands. Advanced when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 90 mph;showed soft hands, a clean exchange, and athletic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.57 60-yard dash. Athletic on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a consistent arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 84-86 mph. Throws a 12/6 curveball (67-68). His changeup (77-78) had fading action.
Scouting Notes: Talented two-way prospect with obvious athleticism. Fast-twitch actions on the mound with obvious arm speed. Fastball was live and changeup had good sell to it. Above average stuff for class.

Offensive Projection:Put him anywhere.
Field:6.6 runner with obvious athleticism and arm strength. Type of athlete who you could throw at multiple positions.

2/22/20 Position Player
Hit: Athletic setup followed by a simple approach mechanically, balanced launch, compact stroke, natural tools are obvious, easy juice to all fields, solid round.
Power: 84 mph tee exit velocity, gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run producer potential.
Field: Versatiles defender with athleticism/arm strength that shows in the infield and outfield, ball skills are similar with a slightly higher grade in the outfield.
Throw: 84 mph across the diamond, and 82 mph from the outfield,
Defensive Projection: OF.
2/22/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Easy tempo on the mound, high-¾ righty with some effort to delivery, arm works well with above average arm speed through.
Fastball: 81-83 mph, more in the tank, heavy pitch, regular run.
Curveball: 64-66 mph, pops out of the hand with an 11/5 shape, showed signs of being a quality offering.
Changeup: 75-76 mph, good sell, decent fade.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.
2/9/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Fusselman throws from a ¾ arm slot and shows some stiffness to his movements. Moves well in the lower half but is too linear and rigid with his upper body movement patterns. Fastball: The fastball was 77-80 mph with some fading depth. Curveball: His breaking ball was 63-65 mph with curveball shape and spin. Decent depth on the pitch. Changeup: The changeup was 73-74 mph Pitchability: Average feel for his three pitch mix. Breaking ball shows potential. 2/9/20 Position Player Hit: At the plate Fusselman showed a naturally athletic stroke. He used a leg kick load and showed a mostly on plane bat path with pull tendencies at times. Showed naturally quick hands. Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Looks to develop into a gap to gap threat with some power upside. Field: In the outfield Fusselman showed choppy rhythm and footwork with an average ability to play through the ball. Throw: 82 mph from the outfield. Defensive Projection: Corner OF
Body Type: 6-foot, 145-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Open stance with a smooth load into his back leg that engages his hands well.
Hit: Level bat path that produces a twitchy swing to the pull side.
Power: Line drive guy right now with more to come. Top exit velocity off the bat in BP was 80 mph.
Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup guy.
Field: Plays under control throughout sequence in the outfield, using shorter footwork. One-handed play through, displaying ball skills on par for class. Also worked out at first base. Moves off the bag well and plays with feel for the spot. Looks solid over there.
Throw: ¾ righty with developing arm strength.
Defensive Projection: TBD on how arm comes a long with maturity.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Slow tempo with some effort. High leg kick but delivery is repeatable. Ball comes out of the hand well from a ¾ slot. Good arm speed and a long arm action.
Fastball: 71-74 mph. Likes to work away. Primary offering shows slight arm side movement.
Curveball: 62-64 mph. 11-5 tilt with gradual break.
Pitchability: In and out of the zone occasionally missing glove side. Shows developing feel for his breaking ball.
2/17/19
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 145 pounds. Taller, thin build with room to fill in.
Swing Mechanics: Hits from a wider stance in the box while swinging with a slighter uphill path. Quick hands shown too as he attacks the baseball.
Hit: Nice contact presenting mostly consistent barrel action.
Power: 79 mph exit velocity with power output seen more pull-side.
Offensive Projection: TBD for now.
Run: 7.46 seconds 60-yard.
Field: Showed nice glovework in the outfield as he did a nice job staying down and through the ball as he approached it. Footwork for both infield and outfield overall is playable and developing more fluidity. Infield defensively presented similar glove action to the outfield as he worked the baseball fielding it well too. More to come from this ‘22.
Throw: Has arm strength and will continue to improve it as he was 67 mph across the diamond and 74 mph from the outfield.
Defensive Projection: Multiple position potential as he develops further.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Simple load followed by a compact stroke. Contact type bat with feel for the barrel. Sneaky pop for frame. Much more pop to come as physical maturation takes its course. Very efficient swing with impressive barrel accuracy. Sprayed line drives to both gaps in BP. At first base he plays under control off the bag. Brings above average athleticism to the position. Ball skills are developing. In the outfield he plays with aggressive feet, getting to the baseball in a timely fashion. Would like to see him play one-handed through the baseball to maintain momentum into his throws. Arm strength is developing.

A right-handed hitter at the plate balanced setup. Uses a toe turn for timing as hands flow through back load. Compact stroke on a slightly uphill path. Shows twitch to hands with some strength at contact. Most natural flight and loudest pop came to the oppo gap. At first base he has the frame for the spot with feel off the bag. Quick arm side turn on double play balls. Ball skills are adequate.
