RHP/SS, (2023) St. Edwards, OH. 6-foot, 170-pound athletic build. On the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a ¾ arm angle with a quick arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Athletic balance point. Has a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 78-81 mph; has arm side control and running action. (Max spin 2040; Avg 1897). Had gradual action on his 2/8 slider (61-64). (Max spin 2330; Avg 2191).
Charles Lauretig: RHP/SS, (2023) St. Edwards, OH. 6-foot, 170-pound. During batting practice, Lauretig's best exit velocity was 82 mph. (64.1 mph bat speed average). (17.2 mph hand speed average). Began in a quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed was efficient, showed a rotational swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 78 mph; had consistent footwork, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.6 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, had a clean arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Threw his fastball 78-81 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 1814; Avg 1624). His 11/5 curveball (62-63) shows slurvey action. (Max spin 2198; Avg 2032). Threw a 10/4 slider (65-66) with late tight action. (Max spin 1991; Avg 1914).
2/15/20 Position Player
Hit: Smoother actions in the box. Uses a double tap for timing with lower half. Barrel gets to a vertical launch position. Level path that found contact well. Sprayed it around the yard in BP.
Power: Quicker than he is strong presently. Line drive pop. 81 mph exit velocity off the tee. More to come as he fills out that athletic frame.
Offensive Projection: Table Setter.
Field: Really liked his movement profile in the infield. Feet work well, efficient with some flash. Ball skills appear to be ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Showed the ability to use multiple slots.
Defensive Projection: TBD. Young prospect with much more physical maturation left.
2/15/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Athletic mover on the mound. Will vary tempo for deception. Ball comes out easy / arm works.
Fastball: 73-76 mph. More in the tank. Mostly true through the zone.
Curveball: 53-57 mph. Pops out of the hand with big, gradual action.
Changeup: 58-59 mph. Looses a bit of arm speed on the offering that shows fading action to it.
