The 2024 infielder had a big week both at the plate and in the field that turned some heads in the stands.  On the workout day Brooks ran a 7.19 60 to go along with his 88 mph radar gun reading across the diamond.  The games portion is where Brooks really shined picking up 4 hits in 9 at bats and made plays all over the field.  Brooks also worked on the mound getting the fastball up to 88 mph with a quick arm to complement a low 70’s breaking ball and 76-77 mph change up.  The high energy player from Tuttle showed his all-around versatility being able to play multiple positions at a high level, showed the ability to handle some of the best pitching in the country at the plate, and went on the mound and showed his impressive arm strength making him an interesting and legitimate two-way prospect.

Braylon Brooks: SS/RHP, (2024) Tuttle, OK. 5-foot-7, 145-pound athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 81 mph. Begins in an athletic stance with a compact load, then uses a short stride to start his swing. Has explosive bat speed, flat swing plane and high finish. Found lots of barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Confident in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 83 mph; showed a clean exchange, sure hands and athletic feet. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used an-over-the-top slot with a quick arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.66 at the event. Advanced on the mound, where he showed quick arm speed, also used a consistent arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has athletic balance point and even shoulders. Lands square with a recoil finish. Threw his fastball 82-85 mph and topped out at 85 mph; had a consistent command that shows heavy movement. Shows late action on his 1/7 curveball (66-67). His changeup (69-70) shows in the zone command and fading action.

A 5-foot-6, 130-pound lean and athletic developing frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up tempo delivery with rhythm and a high up, down, and out leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action has moderate length with a fluid, clean, and quick arm action coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 75-78 mph touching 79, nearly all strikes. Curveball has tight spin and late depth with 10/4 shape at 67-68 mph. Changeup flashes cut at 69-70 mph.

A developing 5-foot-6, 130-pound frame with athleticism and plenty of room to fill in as he matures. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts in an athletic, square base with rhythm in his hands set high by his ear. Initiates his swing with a toe-tap load and small knee-knock before launching his hands on a flat bat path through the zone. Some length to swing, but consistently barreled up balls generating line-drives to all fields during BP. 76 mph exit velocity. 8.21 60-yard dash. In the infield, showed confident, clean actions with soft hands and good footwork. Throws from a high-¾ arm slot yielding accurate throws at 76 mph.
