Gage Gilchrist: 1B/RHP, (2022) Oklahoma Christian, OK. 6-foot-2, 210-pound sturdy frame. At the plate, Gilchrist showed his power in the box with a strong exit velocity of 89 mph. Began in a tall stance with a wrapping load, then used a big leg kick before his swing. Bat speed was explosive, displayed upward swing plane and high finish. Through his round he found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 74 mph; shows firm hands, a fluid exchange and developing feet. Showed a long arm action with a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.64 in the 60-yard dash. Average on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action while showing some arm speed. Used easy effort in his delivery. Showed athletic balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 77-78 mph with a max of 79 mph; plays straight, around the zone. His slider has some late action. Showed arm side command and slight action on his changeup (71-72).

Demonstrated an advanced, physical 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with above average feel for his body. The left-handed hitter begins with a closed, wide stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Displayed advanced barrel whip by sinking into a strong lower half generating hip shoulder separation. Barrel moves slightly uphill through the baseball allowing for carry to the deep pull side gap. Showcased solid strength for his age by registering an 87 mph bat-exit velocity off the tee. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. The primary first baseman featured adequate footwork with feel around the bag and a soft glove hand out in front. Easy transfers created accurate 76 mph arm-strength out of a high ¾ arm-slot across the diamond.

A 6-foot-2, 210-pound sturdy frame; 1B/RHP. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showed his power ability with an exit velocity of 90 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a wrapping load, then uses a leg kick to initiate his swing. Has above average bat speed, as well as an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. In BP, shows a consistent pull approach with lift and some big pop.  In the infield, recorded a position velocity of 72 mph; had heavy footwork, a fluid exchange and firm hands. Showing consistent accuracy to the bag, he had a high ¾ slot with a long arm action. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.82.

Displayed a large 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with advanced strength and athleticism in the box. The left-handed hitter begins with a square, even stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate a violent swing. Advanced hip-shoulder separation and present sink into a strong lower-half allowed for the barrel to whip through the zone at a slight uphill angle. Generated easy backspin to the pull-side gap during a loud batting practice registering an 88 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. The first baseman featured adequate feel around the bag with solid range to both sides. A low center of gravity and quick first-step yielded consistent footwork that arrived on time to the baseball. Recorded accurate 70 mph throws from his position out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot.

2/03/19

A 6-foot-1, 205-pound advanced frame with some strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an even, tall, slightly back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a short leg lift, short stride, moderate arm bar load before his explosive hands follow a slightly uphill path to solid extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach with some lift and pull pop, shows the ability to go to the opposite field gap when pitched away, 83 exit velo. Runs a 7.70 60. Defensively, shows confident actions  with above average hands and deliberate movement in his feet. Throws with a quick stroke with good length coming through a high ¾ slot. Shows good  accuracy at 72 mph on double play turns.

A 6-foot-1, 205-pound advanced frame with strength throughout. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an even and slightly back leg heavy stance with slight rhythm in his hands. Uses a small leg lift, short stride, and arm bar load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with excellent extension. In BP, shows a pull approach with occasional lift and much more pop than his 78 mph exit velo would suggest, mostly barrels. Runs an 8.09 second 60. Defensively, shows good lateral movement with deliberate actions. Throws with a long arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy at 72 mph across the infield. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with a high leg kick followed by a long stride down the mound. Arm action is long and fluid, coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 73-75 mph, filling up the zone. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with some depth, also for strikes, 61-63 mph. Changeup is still developing, 67-68 mph. 

9-9-18
A physically advanced 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame with some strength throughout. On the mound, uses an average tempo and controlled delivery with a high leg kick before striding down the mound. Arm action has moderate length in the back making a quick circle before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 72-76 mph. Changeup shows some fade at 65-66. In the game, competes in the zone well.

Defensively, shows bouncy actions and some athleticism around the bag at first base. Throws with a long arm stroke through an over the top slot with some accuracy at 72 mph to second base.
