The Oklahoma commit has a wiry 6-foot, 175-pound fame. Prater works slightly across his body, loose arm action, high-3/4 slot, deep takeaway, longer in the back, drop-and-drive guy, will change slots occasionally. Fastball sat 84-87 in Jupiter (though he has been up to 89), flashes occasional arm-side run. Curveball sits 70 mph, early break, 12/6 shape.

2020 DRAFT: He might not have the same star power as his teammate and righthander Cade Cavalli, but Prater is a rising star in his own right. A 6-foot, 185-pound junior, the lefty has tallied similar numbers in all three years of his career. A 4.09 ERA in 50.2 innings as a freshman before tallying a 3.26 ERA in 80 innings last season. During the shortened 2020 season, he had a 3.42 ERA in 23.2 innings along with 33 strikeouts and 10 walks, along with a .235 OBA. Prater sat more 88-91 mph with his fastball last season but had shown more 92-93s with the offering this spring. He also threw the fastball for strikes on both sides of the plate, while the slider at 82-84 mph was his bread and butter, go-to offering. His changeup at 80-82 mph is a big-time weapon when it's on. It has a tendency to come and go for the talented lefty, but the presence of a third quality offering makes him a good candidate to start at the next level. Prater is ultra-competitive and his hard-nosed nature plays to his favor.

8/21/19: Super competitive lefty Levi Prater (Oklahoma State, 2020) showed a loose arm, good arm speed and a smooth delivery, but landed well across his body and cut himself to the plate. Controlled an 89-90 mph tailing fastball to his arm side and mixed in a 79 mph slider. After a strong sophomore season for the Cowboys (7-4, 3.26 ERA, 80 IP, 97 SO) he had an even better summer in the Cape (0.91 ERA, 19.2 IP, 21 SO), Prater has mid-to-early Day Two potential.
