From the left side, slight leg kick load, loose hands that take an loopy, uphill path, high finish, found some barrels, 81 mph exit velo. Runs a 8.12 laser-timed 60. Defensively, catches from a high, narrow set-up, average blocking, good hands, clean exchanges, and consistent footwork. Throws from a high-3/4 slot, 72 mph, accurate, 2.00-2.10 pop time.
A durable 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame. On the mound, works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well. Uses a high leg kick and strides way down the mound getting solid leg drive. Arm action is loose, long, and quick behind him, coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball sits 85-87 mph showing cut to the glove-side and run to the arm-side, mostly strikes. Curveball has 12/6 shape with consistent spin and depth, 70-71 mph, mostly thrown as a chase pitch. Changeup has fade at 74-75 mph. Overall, through new to the mound, Rowland shows advanced feel with arm strength and could continue to quickly develop into a front-line arm at the next level.
