6.15.17 Big physical right-handed hitting catcher/first baseman. Room to add more strength to 6-foot-3 frame while he does posses current strength right now. Short, quiet stroke at the plate, shows bat speed and does not cheated. Looks to pull ball with ability to leave any park. Defensively, arm is short behind the plate, more in there, was a best 2.06 on pop time to bag with a velocity of 72 mph. 2018 grad who is going to hit and hit with power, run producer type bat with exit velo of 91 mph. 60 Time: 7.50 Exit Velocity: 91 INF Velo: 77 C Velocity: 72 Pop Time: 2.06
3.23.16 6-foot-3, 225-pounds and 2018 grad. Dawson’s third PBR event to date with each one displaying body changes in the right direction. Good foundation and strength throughout with good bat lag and speed. Produces lift on the ball and homerun power. An 87 mph exit velocity was one of the tops on the day and he is still very young. Still learning the catching position as he goes, but projects as a first basemen.
06/24/15 Strong, physical frame that has 3 years before college to add size and muscle. Very projectable with current size. Big hands, legs, well proportioned. Biggest tool is with bat. Projects power, good foundation right now, simple swing with minimal movements. Can hit ball in air, some lift to swing and finish, shows bat speed. Can get long when tries to get big. Defensively, still learning behind the plate, plays first base as well. Big target either position. average feet behind the plate and around the bag. Arm is from 3/4 slot behind the dish. Big time size and frame that looks to be a bat with serious power potential as he matures and develops.
4/4/15 Big bodied freshman at 6-foot-3, 220-pounds with room for physical maturity and strength gains. Monster of a kid, gotta like the size right off the bat. Gets after it at the plate, certainly won't be cheated. Bat speed and strength right now, will only get stronger and quicker. Exit velocity was 87 mph. Rock back to load with small stride, creates nice separation, hands get through the zone and gets good extension out front. Chance to hit some moon shots this year in Bantam. Defensively, still getting used to behind the plate. Moves well for frame and size, shows feel with hands for receiving. Pop time was 2.21, continue to build and work on arm strength and footwork. Velocity from the dish was 69 mph. Lots of upside with frame and power potential. Very interesting 2018, will continue to stay on top and follow closely.
