8.27.15
Emond is a smooth fielding, 6-foot, 165-pound shortstop who is under control and confident in the middle of the diamond. Lower half is agile and is light on his feet. Can pick it on either side while his arm is quick with carry at 84 mph across the diamond. At the plate, Emond showed improvements since we saw him earlier in the year. Stronger and more bat speed, he squared up balls to his pull side while he started slightly closed off in the box. Medium stride out front, timing is big part to Emond, ensuring he gets his foot down and ready to hit. Hands show some looseness and whip through zone, reps and at-bats are biggest thing for Emond who can make plays as a shortstop up the middle.

2/15/15
6-foot, 165-pound athletic infielder with room to get more physical. Ran a 4.59 from home to first and a 5.18 in the 40-yard dash. Defensively, approached ball well with agile lower half and soft hands. Went from side to side with ease showing confident actions. Arm works and had some life at 82 mph. Good looking infielder with a strong glove and footwork. At the plate, Emond showed some bat speed during batting practice. Starts with a narrow, closed stance with big stride and minimal hand movement. Creates timing and balance issues. Hands show they have some quickness and can still get the bat through. Nice looking prospect, needs to make some mechanical adjustments at the plate but if he does will turn himself into a guy. Exit velocity was 76 mph. Defensively, live lower body with soft hands. Showed good body control and had feel for the baseball. Arm was short and proper actions with a quick, clean release. Top velocity across the diamond on the day at 82 mph. Arm was loose and quick.  Nice defensive player with a lot of upside. Good looking athlete.
