8.27.15
Bernardi is a 2016 grad with a frame that projects at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. Bernardi has bat speed but at times will drop his barrel that will make him long to the ball. Bat path flattens out and finishes with  extension. Hands are loose and he loads back with lower half creating rhythm and separation. Defensively, Bernardi has improved his accuracy and arm strength as he was 74 mph behind the dish. His pop time was 2.09. 2016 grads with tools that can play at the next level, minor adjustments can make big leaps in his development.

1/24/15
Strong, muscular frame at 6-foot2, 215-pounds. Big and physical type player who’s game translates that way and fits the profile of a catcher. Ran a 4.70 down to first out the box. Offensively, showed good bat speed during batting practice round. Sets up with an evenly closed stance with small stride to loading point. Hands are in good position to hit. Ball jumps off bat with loud contact, at times can get too big causing swing to get long. Lift and leverage is there. Power type guy who can and has been able to knock the ball out the park. Swing has improved since last PBR event in October. Defensively, footwork and hands have good idea of what to do. Received ball well during his bullpen, big frame and target to throw at. Was clocked at 75 mph on his throws down to second. Arm works and has some carry, very interesting prospect who has loads of projectability.

10/26/14
6-foot-2, 215-pound muscular catcher’s build. Good comfortable set-up, transfer was clean into high-¾ arm position. Pop time was 2.19 while velocity was 75 mph showing signs of arm strength. Improved footwork and quickness biggest challenge. Offensively, swings with power and strength. Starts in slightly open crouched stance. Some lift to swing, showed he can get backside through. Ball loud coming off bat. Chance to have some serious power. Exit velocity was day’s best at 93 mph while 40 time was 5.32.
