Liberty commit. Skirrow is now 6-foot-3, 215-pounds and has come off a strong 2016 campaign that has saw him come into his own with strong outings at T12 and in Jupiter with Team Arsenal. The right-hander has been up to 90 mph with his fastball and throws his off-speed for strikes. Curveball shows depth with 12/6 shape, at times it can get to soft and lose its bite. Changeup has fading action, will throw more often than your typical HS arm in Ontario, has track record of winning. Skirrow looks to make a push with his new team the Great Lake Canadians as he heads into 2017.

Big right-hander with strong build. Incorporates lower half well. Good rhythm through delivery, works from 3/4 arm slot with fastball in mid 80's right now, topped out at 87 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, feel for changeup. Potential is there to big big right-handed workhorse.

8/22/19: Skirrow presents as a polished righty with a strong, mature build at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, with very little projection remaining. The arm action is clean and the Liberty right utilizes moderate effort from a high three-quarter slot to propel the pill. His fastball sat 89-92 mph with a 2280-2320 spin rate and he varied the shape and velocity on two breaking pitches, both playing better than average. The curveball ranged from 75-77 mph and played up due to plus command. The best of the two breakers on this look was a hard slurve working 80-83 mph at 2450 rpm. He effectively expanded the zone with the pitch depending on the situation and, overall, showed great feel for spin. Skirrow mixed-in a power changeup at 84-87 mph with late dip. Though the offering comes with split action, Skirrow claims it isn’t a split grip. The righty fields his position well and does all the little things like holding runners (1.2 seconds to the plate from stretch) and is very poised. He’s what coaches call a “winner”. In seven starts he finished the season 1-1 with a 2.76 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 29.1 IP.  Overall, Skirrow is a strike-throwing four-pitch righty with a great feel for the bump. He’s a low-risk pick that profiles to a middle relief or back-end starter role. With another healthy and successful spring season for the Flames, Skirrow is a likely Day Two selection this June.
