An undersized yet toolsy outfielder with some more room to fill out. Benson runs a straight 7-second 60 and shows off some athleticism in doing so. Smooth and quiet approach at the plate with a subtle leg kick for a load. Starts off from an open stance, swings off a straight front foot, transfers weight evenly in his swing and brings hands through the zone with a clean extension. Line drive-type and fundamentally sound swing with not a lot of moving parts and some gap-to-gap potential. Shows relaxed, fluid and smooth actions in the outfield, transfers the ball from glove to throwing hand cleanly, not red flags in arm action. Overall, an interesting outfield prospect with tools, athleticism and smooth actions all across the diamond, who could turn into a solid junior college player on the next level.
