8/01/22

Cape Cod: A late addition to Wareham's roster, Diodati batted .242 in 49 games for the Crimson Tide as a junior this past spring. The left handed slugger will take his plus raw power to Oregon for his senior season. It's his top tool and one that enabled him to slug .557 in 22 games for Wareham this summer.

7/25/21

Cape Cod- A physical presence at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds Diodati has incredible strength from his elbows to his fingertips. He started off the Cape season smokin' hot, but cooled as the season progressed. His 65-grade raw power to all fields with natural lift did produce seven long balls in 195 plate appearances, good for a .435 SLG%. The left handed slugger showed below average plate discipline with nine walks vs 43 strikeouts in 152 plate appearances (28.3% K rate) this summer after a similar spring (27.1% K rate). Diodati is an adequate athlete and does move fairly well for his size, but his position on the field is still yet to be determined. At this point he's best at DH, but could become playable in left field at the next level. His tool is his bat and with improved swing/miss this spring he profiles to the top five rounds in 2022.

5/30/19

Canadian Junior National Team Member, Alabama recruit, #2 ranked 2019 prospect, large, broad-shouldered 6-foot-2, 210-pound build with strength evident throughout. Has seen time both behind the plate, left-field,  and at first base. Arm strength is his best tool defensively, has been up to 81 mph out of the crouch. His rounds in the cage are impressive, hands work short to and long through the zone with no problem getting out front, flat plane, high finish, strong lower half gives him stability, baseball to jumps off of his bat. Performed with Canadian Junior National Team this year and put himself into a nice position as we inch towards the draft in June. Should be one of the top Canadian HS players chosen.

1/06/19

Diodati had one of the most impressive summers of any Canadian hitter as he performed at many events throughout 2018 and saw himself de-commit and then sign with Alabama. The left-handed hitting Diodati is a power bat that showed more feel for the hit tool in 2018 and capped off his season with a strong offensive performance in Jupiter and a bronze medal at the world championships. Physical and muscular frame, the bat carries him at the moment as he will see time behind the dish, at first base and even some left field. If he continues to develop behind the dish, Diodati will get many looks come June and could see his stock rise and continue the trend of Canadian catchers with juice from the left side. Will get an early look at Diodati at the Super 60 in February

8/04/17

The big, muscular, left-handed hitting catcher put on a show during BP in workout day, peppering the grass beyond the right field fence and even going over the scoreboard, showing the strength and power Diodati possesses from the left side. All 3 of his hits during the week were loud, with a big double that was kept in the park due to the wind vs. Team Ohio. Has improved defensively behind the plate, becoming more agile side to side and the arm adding more strength since the early spring, showing better carry on his throws from the crouch. Diodati opened eyes at the Future Games and has put himself on the map nationally.

6/04/17

Diodati improved tremendously since we last saw him. Now 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, the left-handed hitting catcher has muscular frame with current strength that is unusual for his age. Shows power from the left side at the plate, aggressive hitter who looks to generate to contact and works more to pull side. Bat speed to go along with strength, whips barrel through the zone and when lower half stays involved, it was a different sound coming off the bat. Behind the plate, was a 1.93 from the crouch, footwork is quicker and more online towards bag, ball came out clean with carry and accuracy with life to his throws. All areas have improved and Diodati is turning into one the top prospects in Ontario's 2019 class.
