2024 Rocky Johnson was dominant on the offensive side of the ball in both games of their doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. Rocky’s assertive lower-half and contact approach helped him rack up 2 XBH’s, one being a 2-RBI triple to CF, along with two hard-hit singles on both sides of the field. He was a big part of a commanding Canadian offence with an EV of up to 92.3 mph. Rocky’s no-fear approach at the plate made him one of the more intriguing bats this week.
Physical: 5-10, 190 pounds; Sturdy, full build. 7.16 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a limited effort from the legs. Showed a compact swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while playing low to the ground. Hands are underneath the body with a seamless transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 74 MPH.
Johnson, 5-foot-10, 190-pounds, was fresh off a good showing at the NY State Games and continued to showcase his skills at the Future Games Frenzy. Rocky is a physical player that has a strong lower half and makes consistent hard contact in the box. He worked to the big part of the field and finished his day with an 89 mph EV. The swing plays in BP and in game. Rocky is definitely a bat to keep tabs on in the 2024 class.

Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish . More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman.
Pitching: Starts in a balanced ready position. Plays downhill through the ball routinely, fields the ball off to the glove side with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm action through a standard ¾ release. 74 MPH.
2024 OF/1B Rocky Johnson has an intriguing bat that shows well at showcase events, as well as when we go watch live-game action. Sturdy, proportionate frame at 5-foot-10, 190-pounds with a quick, level bat through the zone from the right-side. Has some timing issues with his big leg-kick but he continues to show well at the dish, this time posting a top exit velocity of 91.5mph. Plays up with older players in league-play and it shows in his mature overall game.
