8/4/17 Gardiner, a left-handed bat with lean frame that will add more strength moving forward, had a solid week, getting on base and racking up hits in every game. Smooth and easy swing, good feel for the barrel and confident in the box, easy setup with minimal movement, the swing has some lift and should show more power as he matures. Handles the bag well at first and also plays the outfield. The big tool for Gardiner is his hit tool, as he recognized off-speed stuff and typically puts together quality at-bats. Showed he can put good swings on high velocity, lots of upside in the 6-foot-2, left-handed bat. 60-Yard Dash: 7.29 Exit Velocity: 92 INF Velocity: 76
7/5/17 Gardiner had a great day at Future Game Trials. Showed an easy swing from the left side, not much movement, gets extended with swing and made loud contact during BP. Starts open in stance, gets back online with small leg kick while working inside of baseball. Sprayed balls and hit a triple to centre-field in game showing some speed as the 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect ran the bases well to go along with 60 time of 7.29. Can play both corner spots in the infield along with some left-field. Shows proper glove work and footwork, needs to improve arm strength can improve which should come in the future as actions present no red flags. Interesting left-handed bat that has feel in the box and room to add a lot more strength and size to current frame. 60-Yard Dash: 7.29 Exit Velocity: 89 INF Velocity: 76
10/23/16 Projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, corner infielder who hits from the left side. Biggest tool is the bat, good feel in the box, looks comfortable as he starts open and in a crouch. Gets lower half back online with stride, hands are back with loose wrists, controlled through contact, gap power now but more to follow, sound approach. Defensively, worked out at both corner infield positions, arm had carry at 75 mph, some length in back on separation, reliable defender who is improved his defensive actions from the summer. Good looking 2019 prospect with tools and proper actions, will be on to follow and stay on. 60-Yard Dash: 7.34 Exit Velocity: 87 INF Velocity: 75
