10/08/17  Morrison initiates swing from open set up with knee to knee leg lift and stride to neutral. He aggressively shifts weight and rotates away from hands in achieving good separation.Hands are quick and head is still with good balance, rhythm, and leverage to swing while staying behind baseball. There is intermittent subtle back elbow leak in front of hands creating drag. Recorded bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Projects as next level power bat.

Defensively, shows soft hands and good framing skills. Good blocking technique with excellent lateral quickness and agility present. Throwing motion has some length and hips are excessively closed when throwing. Pop times of 2.04 - 2.21 were recorded with arm strength of 79 mph out of crouch.

Campus Series-St. Bonaventure (July 11, 2017)
Morrison stands in at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds with a strong, athletic frame. Ran a 4.95 home to first. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat out in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise in before striding forward while his hands move back slightly. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing the hips and getting the whole-body frame involved in the swing. Has quick hands to the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel action throughout into a high one-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage with good gap to gap power to all fields making solid contact during batting practice rounds. Recorded an exit velocity of 89 MPH. Defensively- Frames the baseball well with a quiet glove. Fluid throwing mechanics throwing to second with quick footwork and a good catchers arm swing with throws downhill towards the target. Blocks well keeping the ball in front and can get back up on the feet athletically. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 76 MPH and a pop time range of 1.95-2.00.
