2/13/21

Physical: Solid SS build at 6-foot, 175PBS. Athletic build with the ability to add muscle. Clocked 6.95 60-yard dash. Penn Commit.

Offensively: Begins with feet slightly wider than shoulder width and hands near ear. Lift is initiated by leg hang in which weight is rocked into backside. Hands work from ear, to back with some barrel wiggle. Relatively low effort swing which is repeatable despite the leg hang. Maintains balance well throughout.

Defensively: Quick first step and consistently gets himself in proper fielding position. Fields the ball out front and works to get the hop he wants. Good body awareness staying in control while moving side to side. Showed the ability to funnel and work through ground balls. Projects to stay at SS.

2/23/20

Pennsylvania commit. 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Gets on plane early and showed a gap-to-gap approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Continues to make defensive strides playing low to the ground and through the baseball with gliding movements. Showcased a soft glove hand and quick release with accurate 82 mph arm strength across the diamond.

6/18/19

6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Showcased balance throughout with an above average feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Ran an improved 6.98 60-yard dash and showed athletic defensive actions with a soft glove hand and solid carry on throws of 80 mph across the diamond.

2/16/19

6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter begins from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Long athletic frame with quick hands and advanced barrel awareness. Registered an 89 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 6.96 60-yard dash. Athletic defender with solid range plays low to the ground and through the baseball routinely. Showcased easy, fluid 80 mph arm strength across the diamond.

10/27/18

6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, heel-raise stride. Stays behind the baseball well and utilizes all fields. Showcased above average feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 80 mph. Displayed fluid actions with active feel defensively. Registered 77 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 7.17 60-yard dash.

9/15/18

Defensively, as middle infielder actions are athletic and fluid with considerable area quickness present. Hands are soft and confident with feet working well to and through the ball. Gabauer has the early makings of a soli middle infield defender. Arm strength will have to improve to stay on the left side.

Offensively, 5-foot-11 160 pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from slightly open setup with reverse toe tap and short stride to neutral. Separation is solid. Weight shift is adequate and hip turn is aggressive. Hands are loose and quick. There is balance and rhythm. A bat exit velocity of 83 mph was recorded Presents as young player with projectability as solid contact and gap to gap power threat.

6/12/18

5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high hands load with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Displayed good balance and rhythm to his swing with an above average feel for the barrel. Registered an 82 mph bat exit velocity and recorded three hits, including a double on day two of game action. 7.28 runner with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond, both numbers that will improve as he adds strength to his athletic frame. Showcased the ability to play through the baseball with active feet and a soft glove hand.
