Displayed balance throughout with a gap-to-gap approach while staying behind the baseball. Registered a much improved 86 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Advanced defender plays low to the ground and through the baseball with a quick release and easy 82 mph arm strength across the diamond.
5-foot-8, 155-pounder showcased advanced defensive abilities with active feet and a soft glove hand. Ruiz works hard with his feet to set himself up for good hops and showed a solid internal clock with enough arm strength to stay on the left side. The right-handed hitter has a simple, direct swing path with a line drive approach. A tendency to be pull happy takes him off the outer half at times. Solid runner has proportional strength that should continue to develop over time.
