The 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter barreled the baseball routinely in batting practice hitting from a square stance with a high hands load while registering a 78 mph bat exit velocity. Collins is steady defensively and continues to show improved arm strength. The junior displayed the ability to play the baseball on the move with an 80 mph arm across the diamond.
6/25/14 Collins went 4-for-7 at the plate with a double in game action over two days. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound junior utilized a lift and replace stride foot and a short swing path from a high hands load to produce a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Collins displayed improved feet and an 80 mph arm across the diamond while showing the ability to play the baseball on the move defensively.
2/15/14 Collins ran a 4.41 home-to-1B time and showcased a 78 mph arm across the infield. He has a bit of a long arm throwing motion, but he exhibited improved fluidity in his actions defensively. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter showed an open stance and a lift and replace stride foot to his swing. Collins displayed a 77 mph bat exit velocity and the ability to consistently barrel the baseball.
