6/17/15 6-foot, 210-pound left-handed hitter. Started from an open stance and took a knee-to-knee stride to square. Easy swing with good raw pop, appears to be making more concerted effort to stay through the ball and use the whole field. Showcased 87-mph exit velocity (has been 90+ in the past) and 76-mph arm strength during workout. Appears to lose focus at times defensively (Billy really likes to hit), but has the actions and glovehand to be an adequate defender.
2/14/15 Brittingham continues to exhibit the loose wrists and smooth stroke that give him the potential to be a solid power hitter at the next level. He starts slightly open with a relaxed set-up and strides to square. He did a much better job than the last time we saw him of hitting the ball where it was pitched in BP and driving it to all parts of the field. Defensively, Brittingham has solid feet around the bag and would benefit from fielding the ball further out front.
8/2/14 Brittingham put on a display during scout day with an impressive batting practice round that included three home runs. The left-handed hitter showcased a 92 mph bat exit velocity and legitimate power potential to the pull side. Brittingham went 1-for-5 with an RBI in game play while barreling several balls for outs. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound junior will need to continue to work on his foot speed and glove work to improve his chances of being an every day contributor at the next level.
2/15/14 Brittingham impressed with a very strong round of batting practice. The lefty showcased a very fluid swing with loose hands and a solid lower half. He barreled the baseball consistently and showed the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. The 5-foot-11, 205 pound sophomore registered a 4.45 home-to-1B time and a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Brittingham has a soft glove hand and moves well around the bag. He will need to work to strengthen his 69 mph throwing arm.
1/20/14 Brittingham showcased an 81 mph bat exit velo and the ability to barrel the baseball regularly with some pop in his bat. The left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and strides closed. Brittingham showcased the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound sophomore showcased agility around the bag at 1B and a 71 mph arm across the diamond.
