8/1/15 Cellucci was down a bit in velocity from earlier in the summer but displayed the same athleticism that makes him an interesting lefty in this class. The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder sat 83-84 topping at 86 mph from an over-the-top arm slot at the PBR Future Games. Celluci allowed four hits over three innings while registering two strikeouts, while showing command of a four pitch mix. The lefty worked off his fastball with a 65 mph curveball, a 71 mph slider and a 74 mph changeup.

6/17/15 Projectable frame (6-foot-4, 190-pounds) with long limbs. Pitched out of an over-the-top slot from an athletic delivery with some head snap. Fastball at 85-87 showed late action at the front of the plate. Slow, big-breaking curveball with 11/5 action at 62-64 serves as a borderline eephus pitch given its nearly 25-mph difference from his fastball. Four-pitch mix also included a slider at 68-69 and straight change-up at 74-76.

6/7/15 With a delivery that conjures images of Barry Zito, the tall, lanky Cellucci worked 82-84 and touched 85 out of an over-the-top arm slot. Pitched in well against RHH and featured a big, mid-60s 12/6 CB.

7/20/14 Cellucci is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore with projectable size and repeatable mechanics. The lefty utilizes an overhead rocker delivery with a high knee that adds deception to his fastball that topped at 81 mph. Cellucci mixed a 61 mph 1/7 breaking curveball and a 67 mph changeup effectively to face the minimum in his first three innings of work with three strikeouts. The highly ranked sophomore is athletic and is likely to see significant velocity gains as his frame continues to mature.

7-20-2018:�Keep an eye on Tulane sophomore lefthander Brendan Cellucci, who made seven appearances as a freshman this spring — but issued seven walks in 2.2 innings and allowed five earned runs (16.88 ERA). He has made major strides for the Baltimore Redbirds this summer, going 2-0, 1.88 with 22 strikeouts and 10 walks in 24 innings. The physical 6-foot-4, 205-pounder has plenty of funk in his crossfire delivery with a high slot and a head whack, which could add some deception. He showed off an 89-91 fastball and a promising 76-78 slurve on Tuesday. (Aaron Fitt)
