Notes

Comments

6/13/21

Physical: Strong, muscular, athletic 5-foot-10, 190lb frame with durability present. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Upright, open stance at a narrow start position with rhythm in the hands above the shoulder; high leg lift with lots of momentum into footstrike, finding success launching through a violent, flat path into the hitting zone. Held low posture and coil over the backside well with ability to drive the baseball towards the LCF side of the field (78% fly ball rate via Trackman) and worked up to a T87 mph bat-exit velocity during his batting practice round. A 73 mph bat-speed with T26 G’s of rotational acceleration per Blast Motion points towards easy middle of the order considerations and future PWR.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a low, traditional setup in the crouch with solid receiving abilities (soft glove hand, subtle on corners). Pop times ranged from 1.92-2.02 with immediate trigger and quick hands at a short ¾ slot, getting rid in the catch/throw phase by sticking the back foot in the ground early. Slight arm-side fade on strong 75 mph throws and added consistent downward shields when blocking on either side of the plate.

2/13/21

Physical: 5-foot-10, 195LBS. Muscular, athletic build. 7.47SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: Physical presence in the box. Open stance with feet shoulder width apart. Hands fire from a strong load position and the barrel works flat through the hitting zone. Uses a leg kick to work back towards the pitcher and swings into a firm front side. One handed finish.

Defensively: Primary C. Shows quality hip mobility in the squat and present strength in the lower half. Works low to the ground and makes quality throws when the lower and upper body stays connected. Transfers at chest height and arm action is appropriate. Exchange is efficient.

2/29/20

Featured present feel for a physical 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, open stance utilizing a leg-hang to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated a short, fluid stroke through contact allowing for natural pull-side lift while hitting into a stiff front side. Stayed inside the ball well while getting through extension regularly keeping the ball in the air. Recorded an 88 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice and ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. The primary backstop flashed adequate receiving skills with minimal glove hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.10-2.16 on accurate throws of 71 mph from the crouch out of a repeatable, high ¾ arm-slot. Showcased comfortability while blocking, beating the ball to the spot with the glove yielding recovery ability and downward chest angles on both sides of the plate.

7/20/18

+ 2018 PBR Junior Future Games Selection (14U Team Pennsylvania)

1/14/18

Defensively, shows soft, quiet hands in framing. Solid lateral agility and upper body angle are noted wall presenting a soft wall in blocking. There is advanced arm strength and solid foot work while throwing motion is somewhat long on in recording 2.08 POP time. Throwing velocity out of crouch of 74 mph recorded.

Offensively, initiates swing from neutral set up striding to slightly closed without gaining ground. There is good balance and solid separation is achieved. Swing is short with an aggressive weight shift and hip turn present. The bat is on plane early and late staying in zone for extended period. Contact is made with leverage and there is extension through the baseball. A bat exit of 84 mph was recorded.

On the mound, Williamson works out of high 3/4 arm slot. Landing is excessively closed resulting in blocking of hip rotation and first base fall. FB at 75-78 showed little movement and was not commanded on this day. However, there is developing arm quickness present. CB at 68-70 mph displayed 11-5 shape and had the makings of an out pitch with late, sharp break and moderate depth. Ch at 64-66 was thrown with good sell but was not commanded on this day.
