9/25/16 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from an open, upright stance with high hands. Good balance with controlled swing in BP, staying inside the ball with some slice to the opposite field. Limited use of lower half in game action didn't allow him to tap into the power potential that his 89 mph exit velocity portends. Ran a solid 7.25 60-yard dash for the position. Still raw as a blocker, he nonetheless showed agility behind the plate. Arm has very good carry and he logged workout pop times of 2.01-2.07 with an in-game 2.06.
Short arm action (not overly surprising for a catcher) into a high three-quarter slot. Good arm speed helped generate a fastball at 82-84, while slider at 73-75 has a chance to develop (although it backed up on him a bunch on this day). Still, not too shabby for a guy who was toeing the rubber for the first time since sixth grade.

6/29/16 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from an upright, slightly open stance and strides slightly closed. Swing has a bit of stiffness, but he exhibits very good bat speed and consistently barreled the baseball during his BP round. Posted 88 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Very solid defensive skill set includes soft glove hand and legit arm strength (75 mph from the crouch) that travels straight with carry. Pop times of 2.00-2.10 could even improve if he learns to transfer high instead of down by his waist, while also adjusting his footwork straight to the bag instead of drifting toward the inside edge of the right-handed batter's box.
