Comments

9/25/20

Physical: Strong / physical 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame with power throughout the movements. Gardner-Webb commit / 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: LHH. Tall, even stance as the hands started with slight rhythm out in front of the shoulder. Utilized a deep lift-and-replace stride to initiate a quick and whippy, flat barrel path into the hitting zone with lift after contact. Showed off high level bat to ball skills with ability to ambush the pitch middle-in, lived in the RCF gap primarily with a 44.4% hard hit rate / 44 % fly ball rate with ability to get natural backspin on it when contacting the ball out in front. Mature approach at the dish and continuously made loud contact on time regardless of quadrant / recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 95 mph using advanced hip-shoulder separation in the box and featured a top batted ball distance of 317 feet per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: The primary catcher flashed a soft glove hand with solid receiving skills / minimal glove hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.20-2.28 with short and directional straight line footwork out of a low crouch, adequate catch and throw skills from a high ¾ slot (short arm circle). Demonstrated the ability to move laterally with his frame quickly getting around the ball and deadening it out over the plate. C - 73 mph

8/26/18

Defensively, shows soft, quiet glove hand while consistently beating ball to the spot in receiving and framing. Flashes soft wall and appropriate trunk angle in blocking. Feet are quick while throwing motion has length in registering 2.21 pop time on throw of 73 mph.

Offensively, 5-foot-9, 155 pound left-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with toe-tap stride staying neutral. Separation is adequate. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. Hands are loose achieving solid barrel whip. Blucher stays behind ball and works into a firm front side resulting in excellent leverage. Bat path is slightly up hill creating natural lift. A bat exit velocity of 80 mph was recorded.
