6/14/12 Gurt, a left handed first baseman displayed soft hands and a solid approach to fielding. He showcased a fluid exchange of the ball and played through the baseball consistently. Offensively Gurt had a short, line drive swing that repeatedly resulted in line drives.

6/22/12 Gurt is a lefty that shows some polish around the bag. He showcased soft hands and threw 70mph across the infield. Gurt ran a 7.53 60-yard dash, but was most impressive at the plate. Offensively the left handed hitter used quick hands and a short swing path to consistently square the baseball. Gurt will need to improve his lower half to get additional pop, but he showed the ability to be a consistent line drive hitter.

10/11/12 Gurt ran a 7.41 60-yard dash and showcased a 79mph bat exit speed. He has showed soft hands and good footwork at first base. Gurt had an RBI double and scored a run in Game #1.
