Coward is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound RHP/OF with a strong arm (88 mph from the OF) and good feet (6.85 60-yard dash). He sits 85-88 off the mound and has touched 90 on several occasions in game action.
5/30/14 Coward sat 86-88 with his 4-seam FB in the 1st inning out of a high 3/4 arm slot. After facing eight hitters and allowing two runs in the 1st Coward moved to his 2-seam FB at 83-85 for the remainder of the game, mixing in only a handful of 4-seamers. His 2-seam showed substantial arm side run and complimented a tight breaking 11/5 curveball that sat 74-76. Coward also flashed an occasional 77 mph changeup at near FB arm speed with late sink. The senior was making just his 3rd appearance after being sidelined with a back injury much of the regular season.

2/28/18 - 6'0/195, Senior. Aggressive strike thrower from a 3/4 slot. Has feel and works quick. Best pitch was an above average slider 80-83 mph. Was able to expand with it and generate swing/miss. Fastball ranged from 88-92, mostly 90-92 early, falling to 88-90 in the later innings...he went eight. Consistently kept it down in the zone. Third pitch was a useable straight changeup 84-85 mph. Showed FB arm speed and threw it for strikes to his arm side. With his feel, stuff and competitiveness, he will make a good senior draft pick for someone.
