7/30/13 Viera will be a freshman this fall, but his age did not affect his ability to compete. The switch hitter went 2-for-3 with a double on day two of game action. The 5-foot-6, 165-pound middle infielder displayed nearly identical bat exit speeds of 77 mph from the left side and 75 mph from the right side of the plate. Viera will continue to get stronger as his frame fills out and will be a prospect to follow in this class.

1/26/2013 Viera showcased the ability to play through the baseball and displayed a clean exchange on throws of 68 mph across the infield. The 5-foot-6, 145-pound switch-hitter used a flat swing path to consistently square the baseball from both sides of the plate. He showed a 74 mph bat exit velocity and some signs of power potential in the future.

12/28/12 Viera is an athletic switch hitter who showcased a 74 mph bat exit speed. He showed similar abilities from both sides of the plate with the potential to hit for power. As he develops physically and becomes more efficient with his lower half he should add additional power. He is a prospect to watch in the Class of 2017.
