Physical: Compact, connected 5-foot-10, 190lb frame with athleticism that carries to all phases of the game. 7.16 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Crouched, open stance with a comfortable, high hand position by the head to start; utilized a short lift and replace stride, landing on the toe early and moving down to the heel for launch. Entered through a controlled, flat path with above-average barrel awareness and acceleration towards impact. One of the more standout rounds of batting practice at the PA State Games, spraying consistent barrels to both gaps (T92 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman). The most success came towards the backside power alley (LCF) where he posted multiple extra-base hits in game action pointing towards definite middle of the order consideration at the next level. Took mature at-bats in game and effected the game positively even when he didn’t collect hits (walks, 10+ pitch AB’s).
Defensively: The primary outfielder arrived with tempo at the fielding window, funneling inward from a soft glove hand position at the front of his body. Thick/durable lower half allowed for low posture and range to either side, releasing accurately from a moderate, high ¾ slot (80 mph arm). Corner outfield projection moving forward and can also handle first base with a quality level of play.
3/06/21
Physical: 5’10 190lb OF ran a 7.46 laser timed 60-yard dash. Athletic frame has strong movements with room to add speed and quickness to his overall game.
Offensively: He starts with a wide base and his front foot slightly open as his hands are preloaded back behind his rear shoulder. His barrel works inside the ball as he gets into a good power position when he makes contact. His swing finishes upward with fluid motion after contact.
Defensively: He moves actively to position himself to successfully receive the ball. His feet use short and choppy steps to control his body and continue flowing through the ball. His arm has a long motion as he reaches back and pulls through from a high ¾ arm slot.
7/30/20
Physical: Sturdy / strong 5-foot-9, 185-pound frame with power built into the lower half. 7.56 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: LHH. Crouched, wide open stance with the hands starting high above the shoulder as the barrel pointed downward over the backside. Utilized a leg-lift stride in order to initiate an efficient, flat barrel path into the hitting zone with fluidity throughout. High level swing mechanics and stayed behind the baseball extremely well in the box allowing for separation in the hands and ability to let the lower half lead the swing. Durable base in the box with a feel for rotational power, delivered a strong top hand to the front of the plate dealing damage with a pull-side approach during batting practice. Peppered the RCF gap with natural backspin but was impressively able to drive the ball deep the other way as well. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 86 mph during batting practice, 44 % line drive rate according to Trackman Baseball. Defensively: The primary outfielder featured a medium low center of gravity with the glove hand playing softly out in front of the middle-left side of his body. Active footwork on the approach and usage of banana routes to create range on either side. Accurate, high ¾ arm-slot on throws from his position with some carry. OF - 72 mph
