8/19/16 Coyle was efficient and effective in a complete game effort on day one of the tournament. After allowing a triple and a walk to start the first inning, he retired the next 15 batters he faced on his way to striking out six against one walk in seven innings. Out of a high three-quarter slot, the 5-foot-11, 165-pounder's fastball sat 76-78. His mid-60s curveball lacked bite early on, but showed more depth in the middle innings, and he also mixed in a knuckleball.
